How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

I do not recommend staying at Address Residence Marassi — and I question the brand’s overall quality — due to multiple issues I encountered during my stay in a two-bedroom flat: 1. The overall cleanliness of the apartment, including furniture and walls, was below standard, with visible dirt and stains in several areas and unclean corridors. 2. The second bathroom had no hot water in the shower. 3. The washing machine was non-functional. 4. The curtains were either stuck or broken and could not be used properly. 5. Cracks in the toilet area were left unrepaired. 6. Dishwashing liquid was provided in the bathroom instead of proper hand soap. 7. Slippers are not provided complimentary; guests must pay extra if they require them. 8. Valet parking service not available; guests had to park their own vehicles. 9. Reception staff provided inaccurate and misleading information. 10. The in-room safe was locked and unavailable for use. 11. Empty body lotion in the tanks 12. Reservations made via Booking.com are not managed directly by the hotel, but rather by an external external agent . As a result, if the apartment is unsatisfactory or any hotel services are needed, guests must contact this third party. This setup undermines the brand’s commitment to service quality and falls short of basic five-star standards. Overall, the stay did not reflect the level of service, comfort, or professionalism expected from a residence under the Address brand.

While we strive to offer a high standard of comfort and convenience, some services and amenities typically included in hotel stays are optional and available upon request—often at an additional charge. Following your review, our operations and housekeeping teams conducted a full inspection of the apartment and found the following: Amenities and Supplies: The apartment was fully stocked prior to check-in with all standard amenities, including soap, body lotion, shampoo, and shower gel. We also confirm that the dispensers were filled and not empty at the time of inspection. Items such as slippers are available upon request but are not included by default and come at a nominal charge, as is standard in serviced apartment offerings. Cleanliness: The apartment was cleaned, inspected, and approved before your arrival. No stains or visible dirt were found on furniture or walls during the post-stay inspection. That said, we understand cleanliness expectations can be subjective, and we apologize if certain areas did not meet your personal standards. Your feedback has been forwarded to our cleaning partner for further quality assurance checks. Maintenance Issues: Our technical team did not find any malfunction in the hot water system, washing machine, curtain tracks, or the in-room safe. All utilities were functioning properly upon inspection. We would have been more than happy to address any concerns during your stay had they been reported to us in real time. Valet Parking: We do offer valet parking as an optional paid service for guests who request it in advance. In the absence of such a request, guests are directed to self-parking options, which are readily available and secure. We apologize if this was not communicated clearly at the time of booking. Third-Party Management: As is standard for serviced residences, some units are managed by approved external operators. While this model allows for greater flexibility and space for our guests, it does mean that certain hotel-style services may vary slightly depending on the operator. Rest assured, we collaborate closely with all partners to ensure quality and guest support remain a top priority. We take guest feedback seriously, but we also believe it is essential to provide an accurate and balanced perspective. We are committed to transparency and to ensuring our guests are well-informed about the type of accommodation and services offered. Everything starting from staff of reception who is not professional and through everything we asked for to the owner of the apartment and end up with cleaning and and missing appliances. Very disappointing and doesn’t worth the money we spent.

I didn’t like the balcony because the view was blocked by a high wall, and there was a strong cooking smell that made it hard to enjoy the space.

I asked the reception if I could request a late checkout, and they told me to contact the owner. I did contact the owner, who only gave me an extra 30 minutes because another guest was supposedly arriving right after me. Yet, just 10 minutes later, the reception called and offered me to extend my stay for another night. I honestly didn’t know who to believe. I also had the “Do Not Disturb” sign on my door, and was surprised to find that room service entered my room for cleaning anyway. The night before, I was told that room service was only available two days a week, so this was both confusing and a clear lack of respect for privacy. I asked for extra towels and was shocked to be told that it would cost 14 Bahraini dinars. That’s unreasonable for something so basic.

Our team at reception is instructed to direct late checkout requests to the property manager or owner to ensure proper scheduling based on upcoming reservations. On the day of your departure, the short extension granted was due to an expected guest arrival. However, it seems there was a miscommunication between the front desk and the reservation schedule, which led to the later offer to extend your stay. We deeply apologize for this inconsistency and will review our internal communication protocols to prevent such confusion in the future. As for the room service entering despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign, this was clearly a breach of guest privacy and not aligned with our standards. Please accept our sincere apologies. We are investigating how this occurred and will reinforce training with our housekeeping team to respect all signage and guest preferences at all times. With regard to the housekeeping schedule, it is true that for our serviced apartments, full cleaning is typically done twice per week. However, occasional spot checks or maintenance may be performed when necessary. We realize this was not clearly explained to you, and we will work on improving how we communicate this information at check-in and in-room materials. Finally, concerning the extra towel charge, we understand your concern. The charge reflects our serviced apartment model rather than a traditional hotel setup, where additional items outside the standard allotment may carry a fee. That said, BD 14 does seem high for additional towels, and we are currently reviewing this policy to ensure it is fair, reasonable, and clearly communicated to guests. We truly value your feedback, as it helps us identify areas for improvement. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future and provide you with the smooth, respectful, and comfortable stay that you rightfully expect.
