How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewEarly check in if you leave the property for an excursion and come back. This meant we could go straight to bed at 6am. Great laundry service! Friendly and helpful staff!
Everything needed to be paid for by cash. The first room we got the ‘double room’ was awful, only a sheet for duvet (in winter) it was smelly etc but then when we checked back in we got a ‘twin room’ and it was so lovely! So weird the differences in there rooms

Verified reviewIf you want to have some luxury , this is a great place to stay. The view from the breakfast room was very nice and the man and woman who take care of the breakfast are very nice.
They did their best with additional access points to improve the internet connection, but in the whole country, internet connection is notoriously bad so it was still often very slow. That was not their fault though. But keep it in mind when you have a hotel in Bolivia.

Verified reviewGreat hotel! Very comfortable, great shower and brilliant breakfast. Staff in breakfast area in particular are amazing! I felt very taken care of during. my visit. Staff also helped me with the heater in my room, which heated the room perfectly! Really recommend staying!
Location from witches market, and main food places is a little bit of a workout downhill and then uphill again - but once you get used to walking around La Paz, it's fine.

Verified reviewThe location is on a side street, but close to the palace and within walking distance of most restaurants and sights. All the staff could speak good English and were helpful with any query I had. Special thanks to Velasquez who helped me purchase a ticket for the football game I was going to, as the website wouldn't accept my cards. There was breakfast every morning and the lady there was helpful and friendly, good wifi, which there isn't too much of in Bolivia and for the price I would definitely recommend. The only thing was the walls are quite thin, so if you are a light sleeper it may be difficult, but not really the hotel's fault :-)

Verified reviewWell situated with someone on reception throughout the day & into the evening.
The room was extremely cold - we advised that the gas heater was not functioning properly after night one, a lady accompanied us from reception to look & got it working, however it emitted nowhere near enough heat for the size of the room & soon stopped working again. There was an issue with a continuous leaking pipe from under the bathroom sink which caused the floor to be continuously wet & the seal around the shower enclosure had degraded so each time we showered, the bathroom floor flooded & we had to use our towels to soak up the water. We reported this after night one also, however this was not fixed during our stay.

Verified reviewGood location. Cheaper en-suite rooms than nearby hostels. Comfortable rooms. Nice staff.
The en-suite shower caused the entire bathroom to get flooded after a shower. Some hairs left in shower on arrival.

Verified reviewThe staff was extremely helpful, as we needed to do an early checkout and leave our luggage there for 3 days before we come back from Uyuni! The location is central and you will be able to go everywhere by foot. The room is clean and there was hot water. The WiFi was ok

Verified reviewMari, the sweet lady responsible for the breakfast, was a delight to meet. The location of the hotel is good, near the center and a lot of interesting points.
The wifi and overall internet signal is really bad. The shower acts a little crazy, it's either too hot or too cold out of the blue.

Verified reviewThe size of the room. Location
We were told if we agreed to change our room to a different one that there would be no extra charge for late check out until 20:00. After changing the room in the morning we were told otherwise. When asked to speak to someone senior we were told very rudely that this is not an option and that there will be a charge. Bolivia is a cheep country. This is not a matter of money but a matter of principle and bad manners.

Verified reviewThe room was large and spacious and the hotel exceptionally clean. The location was super, just a few blocks from the main Square and all of the attractions in the downtown but on a very quiet street. The breakfast was exceptional with a great selection. This hotel provided us with exceptional value and in fact we have already rebooked our next day.
