Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

There just weren't enough showers for the amount of people & they need a bit of updating
Dorm bed was warm & comfortable, staff were very helpful. A decent size common area. It was clean despite the building being a bit run down & neglected..Plenty of hot water in the showers.

Included breakfast is not great but it’s cheap so can’t really complain and you can ask for a bit more. Dorm beds super uncomfortable and the rooms are cramped.
Excellent staff at reception. Liz is fantastic and super helpful.

Very spartanic breakfast of only bread and jam. My room was in the basement without a window or any source of natural light and smelled moldy.
Nice common area with light and couches. Good location to the city center.

Some beds were pretty noisy. Breakfast is simple, but fair for the money.
Cheap&nice place in the city centre. Staff speaking english. I could leave my backpack there after check-out while exploring El Alto Market.

The bathrooms are over used making them dirty often. They are cleaned frequently but because of the use it can be a little gross.
Lovley hostel in the best location in the city. The staff were extremley friendly and helpful. The spot is full of other travellers but the atmosphere is good for making friends but not partying. The showers were hot.

Sometimes hot shower didn't work, breakfast very very simple but since included in the price, welllll.....plenty of cafés around :)
Spacious room, nice staff, very clean, good location, nice vibes, big common areas, very flexible staff, letting store your stuff without a problem etc.

Beds are quite bad
Breakfast was just bread, marmalade with the. But it's fair for the price. The location is very good. Also I booked the Camino de la muerte by bike with the hostel, the tour was amazing.

Very bad light and no wifi in the room. No teapot to get yourself hot water for making tea when you want.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Were very welcoming to our dog. Great common areas. Ready to keep our bags in the storage room. Great location. Warm blankets. Hot shower.

Toilets are less in number for the number of people the hostel can accommodate! Also the bathroom is too small to take bath!

The main downside for me was the very mediocre breakfast. Just a piece of bread with some jam and a cup of tea. Hardly a "breakfast" in my opinion. The doors and floor were also very noisy, which is not great for being quiet in a dorm. Otherwise the place was great.
Spacious, relaxed hostel with a great vibe. Really nice and friendly staff, and one of the best hostels to relax in. Quiet and comfortable, huge and spacious dorm, pretty decor, and a very reasonable rate. I could have stayed longer.

The bathrooms could use improvements, it's tricky to find a place to put the stuff to brush teeth or go to the shower and i had to flush the toilet several times..
Great budget hostel, located right in the center of the attractions. The bed was comfortable and I spent the night warm even though La Paz is super cold.

My mattress was pretty worn where there was a concave area. Other mattresses seemed to be newer? Bathroom could use additional attention when busy.
Spacious and quiet rooms with sturdy beds. The lounge areas were nice as well. But more importantly the staff was exceptional answering all questions and providing info when needed.

Cons/areas for improvement: - Bathrooms get extremely wet/flooded and most showers seemed to be broken in some way - Toilet bins not emptied frequently enough - often overflowing, and sometimes toilet paper missing - Often have to wait for bathrooms given ratio of them to number of guests - Despite our big private room, could be improved with more lighting (very dark inside given one light broken) and a place to hang our wet towels up - Would be good if guests could use kitchen or at least a kettle to make hot drinks - Included breakfast was only a piece of bread and jam - very basic
Stayed here for several nights in La Paz. Pros: - Very good location - Friendly reception staff - Safe/secure accommodation - Ability to leave bags in storage before check in and after check out - We arrived really early in the morning (before 6am from an overnight bus) and we were allowed to hang in the common areas until check in - We booked a room for only 2 people but our room was massive and had a double bed plus 2 single beds - Wifi worked well

Our first room was without a window and very unconfortable and had the same price as the other rooms which are bigger and with windows. The showers are quite dirty.
Very centrally located. The upper rooms are nice and with windows. Everything you need nearby.
