A little bit scary neighborhood, so ask reception desk how to move around.

Enjoyed everything. Friendly and very helpful staff, beautiful establishment with old colonial style. If you are going to visit Salvador old town I strongly recommend.

The breakfast is not very good. Not a lot of choice.

The team was very nice and our room was with all confort. We are very close to Pelourinho (unfortunately the place is not really pretty as nearly all places in Salvador).

The location is terrible. The locals don't recommend at all for you to walk from the hotel to even nearby places, because there is a high risk of being mugged and entering an alley with dozens of crack users

The decoration and ambiance is amazing!

    Everything was perfect.

The hotel is exactly like the pictures. The decoration is amazing and everything is clean and organized. I would recommend for people that like art and rustic decorations, you will be amazed by every detail in this hotel. Even tho it's a rustic vibe, everything looks very clean and new. The staff was also very helpful and friendly, we arrived super late and they made the courtesy to let us go to the room to rest and fill out the paper work in the morning. The breakfast is served in a beautiful area and it's very enjoyable. The location is also very good, you can get to the Pelourinho area in a 10 minute walk.

The streets around the hotels have many slummy type residential dwellings and there are a few abandoned buildings just a couple of blocks from the hotel.

The location of the hotel is a little off the main street. However, we took UBER everywhere and all of the cars were able to find the hotel easily enough. There was a lot of construction around the neighborhood and the surrounding streets are "off the path" - definitely not places that you would walk by yourself. The hotel staff is extremely pleasant and will assist you in every way that they could. The breakfast was very "pretty to look at" - however, not very much filling. The buffet table had about 5 variety of tropical fruits, 3 variety of bread, 3 different natural juices, a cheese & ham platter, 2 breakfast cakes, tea, coffee, and water. They offer us scrambled eggs (but not omelettes) that they prepare for you. The internet and TV satellite had very good reception. The hotel, dinning room, seating room, lounge area, elevator & stairways were always cleaned and proper. The room and large bathroom were large and provided us with comfortable & clean beddings and towers, plenty of towels, a small refrigerator and a safe. I believed that I received much more value than what I paid for the room.

The water in the shower stops every couple of minutes so you stand there waiting for the water to come back, brrr! There's a neighbourhood dog that kept barking in the night!

Buffet breakfast was very good. Some of the staff spoke English and they were very helpful. Few good restaurants just round the corner. Only short walking distance to Pelourinho, the historic centre. Staff helped book a taxi to the bus stop on departure and the Executive bus to the airport for only $5.30 reals!

We were served the wrong dish after waiting for over an hour, once we questioned, they didn't offer to take it and bring what we ordered. No apologies.

On the negative side the bed is too soft the surrounding area feels unsafe (but that is a major problem in Salvador). On our second stay there was also a lot of noise (around 3 AM) inside the hotel (new guests or guests leaving who knows) a major downside of could have been a major experience. We also had dinner in the hotel's restaurant and some of the dishes were very disappointing.

A boutique hotel in the truest sense of the meaning. The renovation of the property has been exquisitely done bringing this old building into the 21st century while being able to preserve some of it's heritage. The staff is also very attentive and helpful.

Other reviews are correct in saying that one must be careful in the neighborhood at night (I wouldn't recommend walking to and from Pelourinho, for example). But, the staff is careful to advise guests about this. There are several restaurants/bars right near the hotel that, although they aren't impressive to look at, the food is good.

Hotel with character, and very comfortable. Good air-conditioning, great shower, and good breakfast. Great value.

Really very close to the historic part of Salvador. The hotel is a wonderful building with tasteful decoration. Great breakfast.

Right in between the Upper side and the lower side of the town...giving different options. Nice little hotel with an unusual decor, pleasant and helpful staff, solid wifi, short walk to pelourinho old town , Lacerda elevator etc...Rather good located. Been advised not to come back by nite walking....I did it more than once, and never felt in danger or threatened even tho the area looks a bit dodgy by nite TBH. Pretty good breakfast too...

The location of the hotel isn't that great. It's not safe to walk around at night. The hotel only has street parking.

We were told not to walk around in the evening/night. We had to take a taxi even for the equivalent of a 5 mins walk to the Pelourinho.

Breakfast was good, and people at the reception very available (and some speak English!)

In the evening you need to take a taxi, because of the surroundings. In the day everything is fine. Hotel room was really small and had no decoration at all. It was also not 100% clean.

Nice small hotel, close (5-10 minutes walking) to the historic city center. Friendly staff, nice decoration in the public spaces. Great value for the money.

Beautiful hotel, very clean and nice staff. After 5 you need to take a taxi to and from the hotel, as you need to watch out for your belongings and the hotel is like 15 Min walk to the pelhorino, but during the day you can just walk.

The location was not in the historic centre and the surrounding areas were too dangerous to go out at night which made our trip very restrictive.

The staff at the reception could be better trained. However, they are very friendly and do their best.

The hotel was the best value for money we got in Brazil. Beautifully furnished - great taste - can easily compete with any luxury boutique hotels in Europe. In the evening, however, you need to take a taxi from the centre but we only paid 8 Reais as it is very close to the centre
