The room was a bit smaller than we expected n the climb up and down the stairs with suitcases was a bit difficult. The lift goes up only to the first floor.

The staff were very helpful. The location was very nice for the walks that we like to take and it was easy getting to places.

Unfortunately opposite a nightclub which belts out doof doof til 4 am 7 nights a week. We moved from the front room directly opposite the venue (avoid this room unless you intend to be a patron of said nightclub!) to a side room and it didn't bother us so much after that. You just have to accept a bit of noise when visiting Brazil!

Very atmospheric heritage style building, and the breakfasts were awesome! Close to the beach and to active little civic squares where you can experience local colour and get a cheap feed.

The wifi was quite unstable, didn't work well. The breakfast could be better served (more kinds of bread and fruits, for instance).

Great location in Salvador. The staff is extremely kind, polite and useful.

Being an older building the rooms are perhaps not as modern or comfortable as in newer places and the aircon in our room was a bit noisy. The breakfast is a quite basic offering and could be improved.

For me the main selling-points are the location, right in the heart of Rio Vermelho, and the safe, onsite parking. In addition you'll get the charm of a beautiful old building and friendly, helpful staff. I have stayed here several times in the past and will no doubt book it again for the reasons above.

Was looking for a place to stay in Rio Vermelho in Salvador de Bahia. This hotel/pension was a great recommendation. Room with a nice sea view and airco. Lovely breakfast and centrally located. Service was fine too. You could change the language from Portuguese to English on a couple of channels. For us that was a plus.

Beautiful Posada! Very nice from the outside and even more on the inside. Very charming and full of authenticity. Just in the center of Rio Vermilho right next to everything. The location is great, sorriunded by nice restaurants, Rio Vermelho( the neighborhood's name) is where the night life is . Steps from the beach, bike rentals, transportation to all parts of Salvador. The room number 369 has a tiny balcony with an amazing ocean view. The people are nice, the place is very nice and cozy with an internal small porch

Staff don't speak English, the safe doesn't come with a lock (you must ask reception for it and once again they did not speak English), and there's a very loud nightclub across the street that goes every night till 2:00am. It's on a main street so no room is immune from the noise pollution.

The property seems to be well located. The only downside during our trip was that there was a massive construction project going in the neighborhood. It seems to be improvements are being made to the sidewalks and other open areas. So, I'm sure it will be nice once complete. It wasn't a big disturbance at the property itself. I rarely heard anything once we were in the hotel.

I loved the uniqueness of the property. Beautiful grounds and architecture. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the complimentary breakfast was yummy.

Location between two lively squares, cool colonial interior, very friendly staff. Beautiful beach just 500m away. Ambience of Rio Vermellho. Unlike Pelourinho no mass tourism, just Brazilians enjoying themselves, atmosphere of Rio Vermelho and local bars and restaurants excellent.

Room could be better cleaned. Windows are not closing well, with a big gap in the middle, which results in an unnecessary energy waste when using AC. Beds are hard.

The room could have been cleaner. The floor was never cleaned with water onky by broom. The shower was daily cleand though.

The location is very good especially once the construction work in the streets will be finished. It s a fun area with bars and restaurants. The hitel us a safe place to be with a garage where the taxi driver can leave you and your luggage.

The first room we got was awful and very noisy. Ceiling was bare concrete and the walls had mold. The windows could not be closed, and there was loud music throughout the night, we couldn't sleep at all. Luckily, they changed rooms and the second room was totally different, much better, quiet and clean. Felt like a countryside inn (wood instead of concrete with mold). Amazing how different the rooms were and how the overall experience changes accordingly.

The location is great, a great (and seemingly safe) neighborhood with many restaurants, cafes, pubs and street food. (Even though the are was under constructions around August 15) The design of the hotel is very interesting and unique. Some of the staff spoke English.
