The room had no nice view, and was a bit dark. I would have liked more flexibility about the checkout but understand that a late checkput is not always possible.

Hotel Costeiro was a very convenient place to stay in Olinda, located on the sea shore, near a few nice restaurants and cafes, about 30 min. walk from the touristy centre of the town (Alto da Se). It was always breezy on the terrace and even in the room, I could just leave the window open and not use the air conditioning at all. The area felt safe, with people jogging and walking on the beach from the early morning. What I most loved at this hotel was stitting on their terrace and watch the sea over breakfast and I also found the bed very comfy and the internet worked very well too. Breakfasts were simply fantastic - fruits, fruit salad, hot food including yam, cassava, couscous, plantain, eggs, sausage, natural juices and for a few reals also a proper espresso. The room had a desk and a small fridge which was useful. There were also some colourful art and craft works decorating the corridors and the room - which otherwise would not have been very beautiful. I stayed for a week and had to book a room for an extra night because my flight was a late night one and the employees did not let me shower somewhere in the hotel before taking a very long flight - I would have appreciated that but understand that they could not or did not want to be more generous. There are cosier pousadas nearer to the centre but they are far from the sea, so I guess I would stay here ahain if I was to return to Olinda.

The accessibility is a bit off (there are no elevators) and there isn't much variety for breakfast. There was also mold in the room (in a picture over the bed) and a used q-tip on the bedroom floor.

Staff was friendly and the location was amazing. Hot water and AC (not your usual split/inverter model, but working nonetheless) were also good, as well as the matress.

I had a problem in my shower in the first day but the staff managed to fix it in the second day. Also the air conditioner was a bit noisy.

Location is great. My room had a view to the sea. Also it was very clean and the staff is great.

I had stained towels in my room and the shower area has a mix of soap scam and mildew together throughout the tile. Obviously isn’t properly cleaned over time.

Friendly staff. Specially a front end/ restaurant guy named Junior. He’s genuinely interacting with guests. Although the site is under construction, they manage to keep it clean.

- Internet doesn't work properly - the staff on the first day was not very welcoming and denied an early check in even though there were rooms available and I was willing to pay extra

It was a bit too far from the historical city centre, and the restaurant for dinner was very average.

By the photos, i thought the room would be more comfy and clear. The staff at the bar wasn't much pleasant too when i asked if there was coffee at that time.

The location was perfect for us as we had a wedding to go in Olinda and the hotel was close to everything we needed. Also the view in front of the hotel was really nice.

I like a swim first thing in the morning before the pool is in full sun to avoid burning - so it was a shame that the maintenance guy wouldn't let me in the pool before 9am because he needed to clean it. It was also a shame that the hotel was doing a lot of maintenance during my stay, so it was very noisy with alot of banging and drilling during the day. One afternoon I returned to my room, to find several repair guys changing the window frames. I hadn't been informed that were planning that, so was a bit surprised.

The breakfasts were great -and the waiters really friendly. And it's a really nice location - right on the sea front.
