The restaurant could do a better job accommodating food allergies, but otherwise food is delicious.

Hotel facilities are extremely comfortable. The staff is great -specially Amilton and Anderson who went out of their ways to help us out with everything we needed.

The lighting in the corridors didn't turn on when we left the room. It was very dark and seemed a bit dangerous.

Our porter was exceptionally helpful and nice. The rest of the staff was accommodating when we got a room without air conditioning, they let us stay past checkout.

The staff was absolutely nice and always available. The breakfast was delicious and was hosted at a lovely area. I loved the fact that in the afternoon they would offer coffee and cake as an amenity. The building is quite vintage and yet very well preserved. Everything was neat and clean. Wouldn't think twice if I'd return to Curitiba - would definitely choose the same hotel!

Bedsheets were too narrow for the bed.

Rooms appeared big because of high ceilings. Helpfull staff, big bathroom. Located just at the edge of the city center, good place to start exploring.

    - in the first night, we were placed in a room with old, dusty carpet; after we complained about it, we were changed to a wooden floor room. However, it was very noisy (much more compared to the previous room).

The accoustic is not very good. When people talk in the hallway you can hear everything. But that was really the only thing. The hotel was great!!

The carpet. It was spotted and bunched up in areas. The hotel is so nice, wood floors or new carpet in rooms would compliment the remodel. The location was very good but did not find local nice restuarants in the area. The hotel only had room service food but it was very good.

The hotel was very nicely remodeled. Loved the high ceilings, counter and desk space. Loved the bath tub. Bed was very comfie. Staff was very accomodating and professional.

Not much actually. I would recommend to improve the breakfast options and maybe do something with sound isolation. But that just kind suggest.

Very nice old building; good hotel and good facilities.

I personally don't like the carpet in the rooms of the second level. But on the first level, it's a nice wooden-like floor. Not many options for dinner around the hotel.

The style is great! It feels like a fancy hotel!

The twin beds were very narrow and too short for anyone over 5ft10 (1m78). The cleaning staff left the windows open, thus letting mosquitoes in.

Lovely old building, capacious room, great shower room, safe neighbourhood, close to old Curitiba, superb breakfast, excellent and friendly staff

Location is sort in the middle of nowhere in a central área that is dominated by cheap shops, You have to walk at least 3 blocks to go Rua XV, a more upity location. No good restaurants around except for the one in the hotel premises, prepare to take a cab if you want to dine elsewhere. An academy is one of the neighbours and they have loud music and screams going on between 6 and 8:30 pm and again early morning (screams only) between 6:30 and 8:00 am. During these periods, resting, surfing on the net or reading in the room becomes quite impossible. The only alternative is to make more noise listening to the TV. The reception desk said there is nothing they can do about it, not even changing to a quieter room.

The bed is excellent and plenty hot water. The amenity kit is very good including a toothbrush and a good sized toothpaste tube. Room is ample and furniture is charming, high ceiling is amazing, however not even a small bedside rug or a picture on the wall. It feels sort of sad. In the foyer there is a very cozy fireplace with comfy settees and sofas. breakfast is very well served with many options and coffee is served in a pot kept warm by an individual candle. Bellmen are extremely solicitous and do everything they can for you.

Staffs are very professional, friendly and helpful. I enjoy my stay in this historical building where the architecture and decoration make me calm and delightful. Location is another plus, during daytime it's a busy shopping area and during nighttime quiet and tranquil. Indeed I had a pleasant stay in SJ.

Slightly let down by a couple of small details during my first stay: the shower floor sloped away from the drain; and when I left my room at night I had to walk 5 or 6 paces before the lights came on in the dark corridor - a bit disconcerting at first. No such problems during my second stay.

Comfortable room and very friendly and helpful staff in a hotel 3 or 4 blocks from the city centre
