my room had this wet smell. It was rainy and the house is at the water, probably just normal. bathrooms were partly dirty. good for crashing a cheap night, but would not have wanted to stay longer.

The dorm was very small and crowded and had night workers coming home in the early hours and sleeping in half the day. Bathroom needed a good scrub but bins were emptied and toilet clean.

The river view with the birds is lovely. The breakfast is the best I've had and the manager is very friendly and helpful.

Great place, small and cozy, relaxed atmosphere. Social, affordable and nice breakfast. Close to the centre, decent WiFi, great base to explore Paraty. Staff are friendly and kind. They have their own boat and organise trips, I didn't go,but wished I had - the others who went had a fantastic time!

I had a night in their "suite" and it was actually REALLY nice, with a lovely "instagram-friendly Window with a view" facing the river. If you´re couple I think you´ll particularly enjoy this suite.

No complaints regarding the hostal :) HOWEVER: Paraty (Old/historic town Center) in general seems like a run-down, ridiculously over-priced place; so we quickly lost all interest in this old part. With a bit of effort it could be suuuch a nice and charming place - but unfortunately it´s nothing but a Tourist trap; "Welcome - now let´s get as Much money out of you as we can while you´re here!". Sad.

The hostel was very chill; Lovely little "riverside terrasse" :) Location was quiet - but only a short (10-15 minute) and charming walk to the Old part, as well as to the "New part". Felt very safe to walk around the ´hood, even at night. A GENERAL TIP: the aprox. 3,5-hrs. "Jeep waterfall/explorer tour" (any of them - there are various, but basically with the same programme, incl. 3-4 waterfalls) is really fine and worth the money. Go, enjoy, and have Fun!

The room was maybe a bit small for 3 bunk beds but luckily there was only 3 people in there. It would also be nice to have somewhere like a locker to store valuables - especially as the main door of the hostel was open a lot so perhaps the security could be better. Also the shower was cold a few times. Other than that, would recommend

Maracuja Hostel is a really chilled out spot, right on the river and an ideal place to stay, really enjoyed the time here. The breakfast included was really nice too with plenty of cooking facilities if you decide to make your own dinner there. The room was well air conditioned and it's only a 10 min walk to the old town with all the restaurants and bars.

Unfortunately, the bathrooms are sometimes not cleaned for quite a while and there are bathrooms that weren't equipped with soap for at least the week of my stays.

The staff is very friendly. The breakfast is very good and there is a possibility to rent kayaks.

Cute place to enjoy you stay in Paraty. Really friendly staff and good breakfast with the classic brazilian fruit, cake, white bread, cheese, hot drinks, sweet cornflakes You can rent a kajak for a small fee and start right from the terass of the hostel:)

This property needs, at the very least, a thorough cleaning and new bedding, pillows and mattresses. There aren’t enough storage lockers for everyone and the dorms are very small. Security is lax with the entrance door often left open and there are no locks on the dorms.

Very basic/old structure, but the main downside is the very poor hygiene in all of the hostel's facilities.

The hostel is about 10 minutes walk from the center and 15 minutes from the Rodoviaria. The supermarket also 10 minutes. The kitchen has all necessary equipment. I slept in a comfy bunk bed. I really had a good time here.

The pillows were old and stained. Limited choice for breakfast and what was on offer appeared to be rationed with only a handful of rolls and a single sliced fruit avalible at one time.

Very musty room with mould on the wall. No water to flush toilet for more than an hour. Bed sheets were very old almost see-through. We stayed in the old town longer - as to avoid returning to our room. The price was well too expensive for what it actually was.
