The common bathrooms need an upgrade, a lot of the doors don’t close.

Location was great, staff was lovely, breakfast was very diverse. The pool area is great, with a very good view. Overall outstanding value for money.

Pool should be cleaner could see a good few bits of dirt at the top layer of the water, needs to be cleaned much more everyday. Pool also wasn't heated which seems to be standard enough these days. Was still a nice pool to cool off though and views were spectacular

Room was perfect for our needs, grand size, nice bed and bathroom and a few English speaking channels on the TV. We booked the apartment with side sea view option and the view from the small balcony was unbelievable. Our room was on the 9th floor fyi. Views from the rooftop were also outrageous and the pool is bigger than most other Copacabana / ipanema hotels.

The hotel is old and needs renovation and refreshing (it looked different on New Year's Eve - decorations and lighting were a huge plus). Small room for breakfast (queues to leave), small selection and average quality.

The first impression of the hotel was not the best. While eating dinner the day before New Year's Eve, I was wondering why I paid so much, but the next day the hotel changed its face. If you are looking for a hotel with the best view of Copacabana and the best New Year's Eve party on the roof, Pestana is definitely it. The food on New Year's Eve was very good, the drinks and attractions were great. Behind you is the illuminated city and favelas on the hills, below is a river of people dressed in white (tradition) celebrating on the beach and in the background there is a beautiful fireworks show. It was the best fireworks display we have ever seen. We highly recommend spending New Year's Eve there.

The price we paid is extremely high for the low quality of room. Parquet was totally wasted and the bed really uncomfortable - inadmissible for a 4 stars hotel. In general, the hotel is not well maintained and would expect much more for q 4 stars. I stayed at 3 other hotels in Copacabana during my stay, at consistently lower price, and Pestana was definitely the worst and the most expensive. Would not come back

Location is great and terrace is amazing, maybe too small considering the magnitude of the hotel - hard to find a spot there. Breakfast is also nice but very crowded and pegeons are part of it if you decide to seat outside (really disgusting)

While leaving my items charging in the wall room service had accidentally broken them by pushing the bed over my cables. The reception was helpful in giving me a new cable to charge with but that was quite irritating. The sheets are clean but have some stains in random spots. The pool was filthy though, its full of hairs and random floating objects. the negatives weren't a big deal for me though. I would stay here again.

I enjoyed this location the most. The bed was huge and very comfortable. Everyday they made the bed and replaced the towels for me. You can grab beach towels at the lobby but I didn't find out until the end of my stay.

Minor repairs (for example in the pool area) could give an even fresher look to the hotel.

Unbeatable location right in from of Copacabana beach and with plenty of restaurants and bars nearby. Nice pool and rooftop with great view over (one of the tallest buildings nearby) Amazing breakfast. Great staff. Nice small gym near the rooftop. Facilities are well taken care of, although a bit old and requiring minor repairs. Overall a very good experience.

The wifi connection is really weak. Some rooms have been remodeled, while others are old and dirty. Construction noises can be annoying at times.

All the staff members I interacted with were absolutely delightful. They are kind, capable, and friendly. Nice Breakfast. I loved spending time by the pool on the rooftop. Very nice view of Copacabana beach from the rooftop.

The range of the breakfast is not enough for a 4 stars hotel. Unfortunately in the first night we have found 3 cockroaches on the balcony thus we could not open the balcony door in the night. We told this to the receptionist but nothing happend while we told them next morning then at noon again. After they could change our room to another room.

The staff was very friendly. The view from our room was excellent, it was clean and the balcony is perfect.

The roof pool and bar/restaurant are excellent. It makes this hotel the one to choose on this budget on the frontline of the beach. Attentive staff too.

Average room for the cost.although I’m finding that hotels are maybe not giving Booking.Com the best rooms. But the cheapest ones. The rooms are average.which I think is unfair ..

Having been moved from one room to another because of a problem, I could see that some of the rooms have been remodernised while others are quite old and with spoiled facilities, for example in the bathroom.
