Stunning grounds, lovely rooms, wonderful meals, incredible views. This place is so much better than it looks online - immersed in a tropical forest, very close to beaches, by far the prettiest and most relaxing part of the island. Best to rent a car.

Not a problem for us, but folks should know there was no TV or Internet in the rooms ... but not a bad thing to be off the grid once in a while when you're on holiday.

Fantastic outdoors location with a variety of birds right on the premises. Rural setting was perfect for us who find Brazil generally noisy ... but wonderful.

No heating in the room. With 6C° and the bathroom's window that we can not close, it's very cold ! And the room was really wet.

Gerta is very nice. The view is beautiful. And the breakfeast is incredible !

It is a 30 min walk to the closest beach, but if you like walking or have a car this is not a problem.

Pretty much everything :) the place is very special. Tucked away in a southern corner of the island, this pousada is set on the tenderly looked after large plot of land where the tropical forest meets a semi-wild garden :) ... in other words, if you stay there you will get not only calmer and cleaner beaches than most of the island but also an experience of it's nature first hand. It's like moving to Kew Gardens with birds paradise. If you stay there, you will be dependant on the local buses but will get so much more in return. Staff are very friendly and knowledgable, and the atmosphere is excellent.

All windows of the room were open on my arrival, and it wasn't properly cleaned, finding a variety of mosquito, spiders, moths, and a huge (cockroach with wings?) On the room, plus spider webs everywhere. Then kitchen was even worst, all windows were left open all day long, so was full of huge moths, making it impossible to prepare even a salad without them going into your food! Shower was cold, without any step to stop the water, which filled up the tiny toilet in few minutes The windows were old, didn't close properly, making the room freezing, and the water came in when raining Overall, a pretty scary experience and doesn't worth the price at all

The owner, Gerta was kind and helpful

Basic rooms beside a stream with a view over a rainforest garden. The guest sitting room is wonderful. We saw 3 toucans in the first hour. A real haven of peace.

I enjoyed much to go to sleep early and to enjoy the magic "soft" sounds of the animals of the forest ! Because in the big cities or in traditional beaches we never have this opportunity. It´s one of the "last" paradises in the world.

Beautiful house in the middle of the nature. Sleeping by the sound of the river and birds singing. Greta made our stay even more lovely!
