We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomSome aspects of the hotel are dated, it is privately owned and the main emphasis on the hotel is its restaurant, hotel guests and facilities seem secondary. The sometimes loud piano playing every evening is not to everyone's taste. The restaurant is good but very expensive.
A fascinating living slice of colonial history. It is in a central location and exudes a slightly eccentric old world charm. It is a unique hotel with a unique charm. The staff were generally helpful and friendly.

United StatesThe overall experience was good but could be better as the staff was subpar. We expected to be waited on with a bit more attention but we found ourselves having to look and hunt down people to get simple accommodations such as towels by the pool or room service. The food was great, and the ambiance of the place has its charm but needs work. I think they should offer more services to the guests that stay at the hotel pertaining to the tours of the historic background of the hotel for example.
Food was great! And the esthetic of the hotel was beautiful. I loved the old school feel, it was like I was transported to the 1950s. The room was comfortable and air conditioning worked amazing.

United StatesMy room was above the restaurant, the bar and the cigar room with music every night until after 11 pm… the breakfast was advertised from 7:30 am… I tried to get breakfast on the second day but they did not open till 8 pm… when I arrived there was no tea or coffee in the room…. and the Jacuzzi bath did not work…. I booked and paid for three days and I informed the hotel I will be leaving after two days…. I had to rebook my flight…. They said that because it was a third-party booking I would have to contact Booking.com and request a credit. If you are drinker of good wine and a smoker of fine cigars and enjoy excessive eating then this is your place… providing you do not stay there…It seems like a run down vestige of the British empire that is desperately in need of Restoration and refurbishment. Only one of the swimming pools had water in it….

United StatesThe design of the shower was odd since the opening on the end allowed water to splash out to the toilet area. One of the bedside reading lamps would not work. Got a light bulb from the desk but lamp still did not work. There was only 1 bar of soap to share with the shower and sink. No cream for the coffee.
Enjoyed our breakfast very much. Enjoyed the privacy of our Presidente room and balcony! Appreciated the access to downtown and the beach.

We didn’t like anything about this hotel except Derrick was very helpful! The rooms smelt like musty smell, said we had breakfast included and we both had 2 fried eggs on toast and 1 coffee and they charged us $140 Australian dollars and said what we ordered was not off the breakfast menu included, we asked them to order a taxi for 6.30am in the morning and that was not done either and had the stress to organise one at this time of the morning - to far to walk from town - and the pool area is disgusting and dead bird around pool! Just horrible so not book here!!!

United KingdomThe hotel is open to guided tours which is off putting when you are a paying guest and relaxing by the pool only to have tour groups ambling around. A suggestion would be to make this for guests of the hotel only.
Breakfast was simple but sufficient. The meals at lunch and dinner were good but a little more expensive than we expected. The wine costs were exorbitant.

The hotel has its history but is ‘tired’. The pool garden and area is very picturesque

United StatesIt's pricey!! Depends what suite you get, but most do hold their old Victorian feel so be warned there's a lot of "antique everything", like the lamps and wall art. Also, besides dinner and the music in the lounge, the area shuts down pretty early, so if you're looking for late night fun you'll have to make your way to some resort properties (Bahamar, Atlantis, etc).
Everyone is so friendly and helpful! The restaurant is fantastic and the wine cellar is amazing. It is the perfect experience for a romantic, grown-up vacation (away from the busyness of families with kids at the resorts you'll find in Nassau). They have live music in the lounge every night and offer lots of experiences (cigar rolling, wine tasting, yoga) and the pool/garden area is one of a kind! Absolutely gorgepus , quiet and private! It was definitely pricey, but worth every dollar for the kind of experience one can create if traveling solo or with your significant other.

United KingdomBadly maintained grounds and building Dirty pool Expensive, average quality food Our room was in a separate building down the street with no pedestrian walkway between the two and no pedestrian public walkway on the road. Parked vehicles meant you had to walk down the middle of a busy narrow road, honked at by vehicles, in pool clothes when went to use the pool. The entire ground floor, every room except the cigar room, had been turned into restaurant spaces. At least 4 large rooms. So there was no bar, nowhere to relax apart from your room. The welcome cocktails I’d arranged for my partners birthday had been forgotten. The security alarm for our building, the siren by our room, went off at 1am for 20 minutes. No one acknowledged this the next day. No toilets anywhere near the pool. Our room: small toiletries were unsealed and used by a previous guest. The coffee machine still had the remains of the previous guests pods, which had not been replaced (2 of us, 1 caffeinated coffee pod), frayed towels.
Location for downtown, historical building, warm and welcoming (mostly!) staff

United StatesUnfortunately that’s where the “good” ends. Note many of the positive reviews are for the restaurant- where I enjoyed one meal. A good steak. But not a good look when the bill is $200 for one diner, one entree and side, 2 glasses of house Malbec and a bottle of still water. I notice many of the positive reviews date back to the mid 2010’s- as do the photos. The hotel is well past its sell by date and is in desperate need of refurbishment. The facilities are poor (no gym, no poolside service one of 2 days, disappointing breakfast, broken shower controls, dated and tired bedrooms, bathroom, dirty (old) soft furnishings) A lack of care around the hotel site (dumped old broken chairs, tables, things tucked away but not out of sight) seem to say they’ve given up. And you’ll need those local businesses because the facilities in the hotel are poor: The “complimentary” continental breakfast isn’t, when you are charged $20 taxes and service. Guests returning from the Dunkin or Starbucks down the road with their own coffee and breakfast says it all. You cannot credibly claim to be 5* when the facilities no longer warrant it and fixtures, fittings and overall quality are poor. It’s everywhere from leaking taps, blown lightbulbs, temperamental air conditioning and old towels. When I have to unblock the shower head due to calcification using the needle from the sewing kit, you know the care has left, and soon, all the guests will follow. The hotel may say I could or should have called for maintenance. I say the fact the room was presented this way at $600 a night shows they’ve stopped noticing. Perhaps the owners and managers need to tour some of the new local hotels to get refreshed on what good looks like.
The location is within walking distance of some of the downtown facilities and beaches. The staff are mostly polite and charming. The restaurant still clearly has a local caché and the pianist brings great vibes in the evening.

United StatesPool isn’t heated so it was cold in December. The rooms are so quaint but the bathroom could use a slight facelift (though it was clean and full of character, it is an older building.)
What a wonderful reprieve from “the Bahamas”. Came for a girls long weekend and wanted to avoid rambunctious kids and water parks at all costs. Could not have found a better hotel for relaxing. The restaurant is of course phenomenal (be prepared to pay for the quality though). Graycliff also boasts the third largest wine cellar in the world - definitely worth grabbing a tour of you can. The evening live music is beautiful and well worth silly-dallying for.
