Howler monkeys were awesome. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They truly treated us like family. A/C worked great and the rooms were spotless.

It was a bit pricey for Belize and does need some updating.

We loved being right on the river and the wildlife all around us. We enjoyed the pool and the onsite restaurant and bar.

Because we stayed on a Sunday some guests may not be aware local residents can use the pool this day. We think this is great as Belize is our second home! So we s by for a nice canoe ride. It was busy until roughly 5 pm. Then we had the facilities mostly to our selfs!

We liked the quiet location. The complimentary canoe use. The bar/restaurant was very nice. Staff was awesome! River view room was private and lovely. Treated myself to a pedicure/young lady was lovely and I enjoyed it very much! Got to hear the howler monkeys! ( wish I would of known sooner that they came down to the parking lot at times) Was impressed with How the staff walked you to your room and areas u needed to go to! I would recommend this resort.

This was the first time we were asked to pay for airport transportation. While we were shocked by that and a little disappointed, I guess one has to understand with the increase in gas prices. However, I thought it was a little overpriced and didn't like that. The airport is only about 15 to 20 miles away and we seemed to pay for a tank of gas.

We have been going to the Black Orchid since 2010. This was our 6th or 7th time stay there. We found they continue to improve and consistently meet our expectations in all areas food, the room, the staff, etc.

I stayed at beginning and end of my 10 day Belize adventure. I enjoyed my stay at The Black Orchard Resort. Away from the city surrounded by birds and on occasion monkey filled trees. My room near the pool was comfortable room and I enjoyed deck with comfy chairs. The staff were welcoming, cheerful, and helpful. The meals in the restaurant offered a good variety with fresh seafood offerings and the food was tasty. The staff shared information about area and birds and monkeys on and near property. If I return to Belize City, I would definitely stay here again.

Restaurant was good but several items were not available. Room could use a fresh coat of paint.

The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The pool and river views were relaxing. The number of birds was amazing. The free use of canoes was an unexpected perk I wish we could have made use of. The bathroom was beautiful and modern. Sheets and bed were comfortable and clean. Bartender knew his stuff and was making fresh and interesting cocktails and juices.

There were some funky rather moldy rugs in the room and the toilet had issues.

Mariano and the wait staff were very helpful. Edmond was great. The people made it stand out.

I think $2.50 for a cup of coffee is too much for guests. I went for a second cup and they charged me another $2.50. Most places offer complimentary coffee.

Really no complaints. We were here for 2 nights and had a tour guide pick us up one day for cave tubing. If you stayed a longer time, it it rather remote with nothing else really around, so you don’t have other options for dining but we really enjoyed the meals we had at the resort!!

Beautiful little place set by the river with many birds to enjoy, and we even heard the howler monkeys close by! Pool was very nice, clean and comfortable temperature. Food and drinks were good - would have been fun to have a drink/food special or happy hour offered. Rooms were very nice and good AC. Staff absolutely wonderful, so friendly and helpful!!

The room was large and comfortable. The restaurant served tasty meals in a pleasant riverfront location. Canoes were available for paddling on the river that flows next to the property. -Great way to spot birds and howler monkeys. We arrived quite early, but the resort had a room ready for us so we could move right in. All the staff were welcoming and helpful

We really loved the surroundings of this resort. It has a beautiful garden area, a view of the river and is surrounded by green forest. They have a family of howler monkey's that live next door in the trees, and it was amazing to see them and listen to them every day we were there. Awesome experience! The staff are so friendly and helpful! We went to the resort bar every evening and had amazing drinks.

I think the rooms are very dated. They really could use a face life or some updating. They were comfortable and clean which was nice. I do think the price was a bit high, but I also recognize that this is peak season.

The staff were the best part of our stay! They were helpful and friendly and took care of every need/request that was made. They are wonderful!!!! The property was beautiful too :)

The property could use some renovating and sprucing up. I also think it would be a good idea to include breakfast in the room rate. The furniture around the property could also use some updating and be more comfortable. There was an old spa area that is currently unused at the time, it would be nice to have that renovated as well. They also advertise a spa, but it is currently closed.

This property was in a convenient location from the airport. It is an older property which could use some updating. All areas were kept as clean as possible. The employees are what make this property a gem, everyone went out of their way to make sure they could do whatever we needed. The food at the restaurant was good and there is a small bar on the property. They do have a list of excursions that they will set up. We did two separate excursions and both were very good. We also got to see many animals while on the property from howler monkeys to crocodiles and many birds.

This is a great place to stay the night before an outgoing flight since it is close to the airport. There is a nice pool, good restaurant and a nice, comfortable room.

It was a little run down. The spa/hot tub wasn’t working. The canoes were old with sub standard paddles. The restaurant menu was limited; they ran out of fish We’d planned tours of the Mayan ruins but that wasn’t available No in room safe for passport.

An exotic place in Belize jungle The pool was well maintained Staff was solicitous It was not crowded. Food was good and good value. The tour of crooked tree bird sanctuary was amazing. We were on our own but we noted that both Road Scholar and National Geographic used the resort as a base for a couple of days. The rooms were spacious and air conditioning worked well
