Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomLovely location with excellent cabanas, and brilliant wildlife, both birds and howler monkeys. We booked Althun Ha and The Canoe River trip with Roy. We highly recommend them, the guides were fantastic! If you want to get away from it all, this is the place! The only downside, we were there for 5 nights and the meals were very repetitive, particularly breakfast

United KingdomThe hut is a bit deteriorated, although weatherproof and some decor was renewed. There were some small gaps in the building structure, which may be why a few biting insects and a couple of cockroaches were present. Agreed, such are hard to keep out of a log hut. One step up was rotted and very very slippery when wet - needs repair. As so often, few and inconvenient electric outlets predate mobile phones. Only cold shower (as advertised). We felt a bit exposed when establishment unstaffed - maybe that's just us. Only place to put loo roll is on top of the shitrag bin, generally no shelves or hooks in bathroom.
Location ideal for baboon sanctuary, and maybe exploring a bit - maybe because our visit was much affected by rain (still a good visit to the monkeys though). Nice lunch. Quiet. Decent bed. Effective aircon/fan. We were in the cheapest hut, which has two bedrooms and one bathroom, mid December, the only guests one of our two nights.

Location was great for walking to the area where the Howler Monkeys were hanging out in the morning. Small local convenience store only 3 minutes away. Local chicken lunch only 3 minutes away.

CanadaNice ,quiet cabin in the back country. Exceptional landscaping. Restaurant on site for breakfast/dinner. Cold beer, drinks in cooler available to take to your cabin. Screening on windows for bugs, or A/C if you prefer, but we enjoyed the cool jungle air. Our cabin had a hot plate, microwave and coffee maker. Deluxe cabin worth the extra cost

CanadaNot that this could change this, but it is a LONG way in from the main road. One of the reasons we came to the lodge was to do the organized night hike. It was fine - but not more than that. It wasn't that the guide was good, he was, however I feel that 20 American dollars per person is very steep for walking around the property.. There had to have been 15 people on the hike which is 300 American dollars which I felt was far too much - since the only major cost to the Lodge was the hike leader's time. We basically saw tarantulas and scorpions..so a lot of money (60 Canadian ) to have the experience.
Our stay was good. As it should have been for the cost of it for sure. Staff was helpful. We did not eat at the lodge as we heard it was ok but expensive and we were more interested in hiking etc. We did the hike Summit hike on our own which was good, but really didn't see any wildlife. We also did the tubing down the river and used the rope swing to jump into water both were fun.

United KingdomThere was a scorpion in the bath when we arrived! But to be honest, we don't think it's anything the staff could have done about it as the place is quite literally in the middle of the rainforest, and they hide all day and we arrived late at night (which the staff had very kindly accommodated).
Staff was very friendly and accommodating, giving us great information about buses and the local area. We saw iguanas and horses right outside the door, and the whole resort part of the one of the seven villages that make up the community baboon sanctuary, which is incredible. The howler monkeys were just across the road. Their dogs are so friendly and escorted us to the local shops, about 2 mile walk under torrential rain! We would definitely stay again.

CanadaExcellent breakfast. I really enjoyed typical Belizean food. Ideal location for nature lovers and birdwatchers. If any one wants to see howler monkeys, this is the ideal location. The owner, Dr. Roy is a humble and down to earth person who is very helpful. This resort is safe, calm and quite place.

FranceEverything was great. But it is a reserve, so there wasn't hot water. Not a big deal for us for 1 night.
Staff were so nice and Roy was welcoming and didn't hesitate to share knowledge about his land, the trees, monkeys... Food was delicious and homemade. But the best part was waking up to jungle sounds and a family of monkey's outside our window. Just amazing. We did the monkey tour in the morning and even if we didn't spot any monkeys on the tour itself, our guide Russell was great and we learned a lot about the land and other insects and plants. A must see if going to Belize!
