Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaAlthough the food was very good. Felt it was a little too pricey. We had dinner and breakfast and it cost more than the cost of our room
The hotel was gorgeous and In a gorgeous location price for room and emmenities exceeded our expectation and the front desk was very knowledgeable helpful and pleasant

CanadaWhile very comfortable, our room was a little outdated with a massive stain on the carpet, the bathtub jets weren’t functioning properly but still usable. These minor details don’t belong in a hotel of this standing.
Lovely location with gorgeous views on the lake. The main building has a lot charm.

CanadaThis is a 5-star hotel, but with a 2-star toilet paper (I've never had to mention it in a review before, but it was remarkable enough :-) ) The bathroom as a whole could use some renovation.
The staff is really, really good, the location is amazing, the jacuzzi facing the lake is awesome

CanadaI recommend avoiding Room 22. It is over the lobby and next to the hotel meeting rooms. The lighting in the room is very "dim"; i.e. the bulbs are not bright enough to illuminate the room. The bathroom is very small.
The bilingual staff are exceptional.

CanadaThere was a little water issue in our room, but once raised, the reception assured us they would look into it. While the electric bikes were great, some were defective. We informed the front desk and hopefully they were fixed or removed.
Wonderful weekend at Ripplecove. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The amenities for activities, including electric bikes, paddle boards and pédalo, were such a fun addition. While the service was a bit slow at the restaurant, the view, the food and the service were worth the wait. Loved our balcony and taking our coffee while the lake was quiet in the morning. We both enjoyed our massages at the spa, which was intimate and a lovely experience.

CanadaAs a solo traveler, I found that they didn't have enough food choices for just one person. For example, they had a "gourmet basket," but that was enough food for about 4 to 5 people. I found the portions too big and too expensive. I chose to go into Ayer's Cliff and eat at a pub type place which was affordable. I felt I had to ask for everything, including how to use all of their smart devices, like washer, dryer, stove and dishwasher not to mention the heating and cooling systems. There was not enough information about any of these things or how to rent a kayak. They could be laid out much more clearly.
The breakfasts were great. The location is spectacular. The rooms are well-done.

CanadaThe renovation. Unfortunately the main building is under construction. And the first night we had like a roar noise in the bedroom. I was tired so I didn't notify the reception only the day after. But the staff was efficient and offered another room. I would suggest bigger signs to indicate the facilites. The restaurant is really expensive for what you have in the plate but after a working day it's good not to drive to find another place.
The room with the view. The building, the jaccuzzi, the quietness and the fireplace inside the room. You hear nothing only the birds and well I love old buildings and this one kept the charm of old times. The staff was awesome and Alexandre even told us about the place who was it for and so on. The room was clean and of a perfect size
