Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Nothing at all - it was perfect.
We loved our stay here! The house itself is beautiful and immaculate. Our room was cosy and clean, and the bed was so comfortable. We slept so well. The breakfast was delicious and set us up for a great day. Best of all are the hosts! They are both so friendly and go out of their way to make sure your stay is perfect. We would return here in a heartbeat. Thank you!!

We had some noises when other guests were using plumbing
Quite elegant home and grounds. Very comfortable, easy to check in, welcoming hosts. We were flying out the next morning and it was very convenient to the airport.

The hosts and their dog were welcoming and friendly. The setting, grounds and house were charming. Interacting with other guests over the ample delicious breakfast in the comfortable dining room was delightful. Very accommodating and thoughtful hosts in many special touches (locally produced soap), small special requests and attention to dietary requests (gluten-friendly).

Getting our suitcases upstairs was difficult for us as seniors. Next time I would ask for a first floor room.
Excellent breakfast with fresh fruit. My favorite was the blueberry pancakes.

The address can be hard to find. Google Maps did a good job initially but lost its mind on the way back from the Ceilidh and at night the driveway can be difficult to spot.
Really nice old house well situated to start the Cabot trail. Hosts were wonderful. Room was exceptionally clean and breakfast was first rate. Exceptional value.

The windows opened inward so needed to be closed to avoid accidentally walking into one during the night. An open window would have been nice. Bathroom was across the hall, which I knew beforehand, but was clean private and easily accessible. An ensuite would be preferred. Location was a little out of the way.
We travelled for 3 weeks. Auld Farm Inn B & B was by far the least expensive and best of all. The house was large, very clean, well maintained.. Breakfast was good. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Tea, coffee, cookies available in the evening was an added bonus.

There was nothing that I didn't like that was in the control of the hosts/building.
We stayed at numerous places in cape Breton on our trip, and this was in my top two. The host was very welcoming and friendly. Our bathroom was across the hall from our room, but it was private and just for us. The room was so comfortable and everything was very clean. We didn't expect much, but it was wonderful. We would definitely stay there again.
