Air conditioner was malfunctioning. Lightbulb in bathroom needed replacing so it was too dark.

The men in our party of five used the jacuzzi and enjoyed it.

The location is in the industrial area, not in Squamish. When I checked after realizing our mistake, it looks like there are similarly priced places in town. The staff is pretty apathetic, they can't help with any questions about the area. I think we may have made the mistake of choosing this place because of the name "Mountain Retreat: thinking it's a base for hiking and getting info about hiking trails. We were wrong. When we arrived they sent us to a room that wasn't made up yet. (We now know that motels don't change bedspreads or blankets!) They won't take debit cards or cash, They only have a liquor store, no grocery store. There are elevators to get to the rooms which take a long time. You can only use the stairs going down not up so you are stuck waiting for the elevators. It got crowded on the weekend. If you have a car and this is the best deal you can get, it's decent, but if you can - I suggest finding an option in Squamish.

The room is a good size, clean and there is covered free parking. there is a refrigerator and microwave in the room. There is an ice machine. There is also a small pool, water slide, and jacuzzi, but we didn't use them.

Room did not feel exceptionally clean from whoever stayed there before us. Found receipts on the floor left there from previous guests.

I did not appreciate an encounter with a lady in the parking lot. I parked my vehicle in the covered parking area and was heading to the hotel lobby doors and realized this lady had walked from the entrance to the covered parking where she stood as I drove in, up to the front of the hotel near the lobby door. She watched me park and waited until I got closer and questioned me if I am eating at the restaurant or staying at the hotel. I said I was staying at the hotel but thought it odd to be asked that so I asked her why she is asking. She said this is private property. It bothered me since it was obvious I was heading directly into the hotel/restaurant building. I was only a few feet from the lobby door at that point. There was nothing about my vehicle or my appearance that could have implied I did not have business there. I proceeded up to my hotel room and shortly after I came down with my bags to check out and the same lady was behind the front desk. So she worked there but did not wear a uniform like the other hotel staff. She took my room key and said an invoice will be emailed. And that was it. No “thank you, hope you enjoyed your stay. Hope you come again”…nothing. Whatever her role/position at the hotel is, I think if a parking problem exists at the property it could be handled better. A more professional approach would have completely changed the entire interaction for me. Also, some friendly communication goes a long way in the hospitality business.

The bed/mattress was too soft for me and it threw my back out. There was no kettle in the room so I had to heat water in the coffee pot.

The water slide is not very tall but it's very fast. I was able to take my bike to the room. The elevator is large enough to fit my bike in. The fridge in the room was good.

Pool was out of service but what can you do. It was awesome when it opened!!! I’m so glad I got to try the waterslide!

The restaurant was great!!! Jana is an exceptionally awesome server! She made our evening meals really fun and gave us great tips!!!

There wasn't any "cleaning needed or do not disturb" sign so I didn't get that service. Had to ask for new towels. There were also used towels that were forgotten in the bathroom from the previous guests (hidden behind the shower curtain). Wifi not the best so I was happy I didn't have to work from that hotel during my stay.

The pool was a nice bonus. Massive slide and a hot tub. Beds were comfortable. Staff was super friendly. Can't complain!

No big disappointments; its a budget hotel and you get what you pay for. So no complaints there.

Value for money especially if you did not want to spend a fortune staying in whistler. The location is secluded but very pretty, surrounded by rock mountains. We used the room only to sleep, we were out and about the rest of the day. ANd for that purpose, it was great.

The mattresses need replacing. Our 7 yr old mentioned his sleep was not good cause the mattress ( on the hideaway bed) was too flompy. Our King sized mattress was ok. It would have been good to know at booking that they had pool towels available to save the space in our packing.

Staff were very helpful and the pool was the perfect temperature for little ones.
