Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaOnly problem was having our dog with us, she's only 1.5 yrs old and being right it town there was just too much excitement for her, traffic wise/people wise/ and big squirrels she's never seen before
We had our dog with us, so it was great that we had a room at the end., It was beautifully landscaped garden like sitting at home on our deck. Also, when I grew up in Bracebridge as a teen, this hotel was a dive, so when the question about the property meeting standards, you can understand my answer

Canadareezing cold. No extra blankets. The place was set at 60° when we arrived and the heat only went up to 68° The bed didn't warm up for hours. We had to wear all our clothes and put coats on top of us. It also smelt of a combination of mold and a chemical smell.

CanadaLoud noise from the heating system kept us from getting a decent night's sleep. The toilet didn't flush properly. Caulking around the sink looked amateurish.Only had one pillow each. The chipped wood around the bath room light switch looked like it was done by a wild animal There was no tissue. Overpriced compared to other 3 & 4 star places on our trip We haven't paid as much anywhere else for much better accommodations.
There was no breakfast.

CanadaThe room was a bit outdated (carpet, bedding). But it was comfy and clean. We had the room right on the road, so the window was facing the road. We had it opened a bit for cool air at night, but was worried about someone being able to snoop, so we kept it closed a bit. Since the market is early in the morning across the street, there are parking spots right out front the window, so we heard cars a lot. But aside from that, it was fine.
The location is perfect. You can park, and then walk downtown to visit all the stores, antique/consignment shops. Walk a bit further and you come down to falls, waterfront, which has lots of free 3hr parking, but when you stay at the hotel, you don't need to worry about parking. Right across the street on weekends is a small market, where they were selling fruits, veggies and crafted items. Alot of the shops down the main street, carry handmade crafts, food, clothing. Collectibles. We went to a small music venue/pub down the street, and was a very nice atmosphere to visit. The hotel room itself is spacious (2 large beds). Bathroom was clean and bright. The gentleman (owner) was very friendly and helpful. Checking in took 10 mins top. Definitely would stay again if up that way.

CanadaIt needs better locks on the doors,
It’s very welcoming, clean exterior nice well kept flower baskets. The room was extremely clean and well cared for. You could see how staff actually take time to fix minor repairs instead of just leaving them. Even though it’s right in the downtown area and was full it was very quiet. We would definitely stay again!
