Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaMany of the rooms have double beds when they have plenty of room for queens.
The location was excellent for walking to the waterfront, Citadel and downtown activities. The breakfast was continental with hard-boiled eggs - worked for me. The evening before we left at 06:00, the staff brought us eggs, muffins and yogurts to take to the airport. Much appreciated! The staff worked very hard for us, when the bed in our first room was so squeaky we got very little sleep. Even though the Inn was mostly full, they found us another room that was so much better.

United StatesThe room was "dated," as it could use a freshening. The towels in the bathroom were quite thin. It was great that breakfast was available but it was pretty standard "continental" fare.
The staff is EXCELLENT. Very helpful and friendly upon check in and again when we left. Our car keys were found in the parking lot (they fell out of my backpack) and turned in to the clerk. He tracked me down at the airport and assured me they would be mailed to me immediately. Location is excellent as well, being on the edge of downtown, within easy walking distance of restaurants and sites.

IrelandThe queen room was a bit small.
This is a well run B & B and Paul at the front desk was very helpful with an early check in as he contacted me when our room was ready. It's fairly close to the center of Downtown and about 15 minutes walk to the waterfront. The Breakfast is basic enough but plentiful. The staff are all very friendly.

CanadaVery noisy on the third floor; many doors opening and closing. And the doors are not slow closing so they slam shut. In the middle of the day they decided to do some maintenance literally outside our room, using power tools! We had travelled far that day and wanted to rest which was impossible. Mattress on the first floor room needs to be replaced; lumpy and you lean into the middle of the bed. Very busy breakfast area; not always room for everyone to eat during peak season. Cold eggs for breakfast.
I liked the location; not a far walk from restaurants and easy to get downtown. Coffee was good. Appreciated having the bottled water in the room.

United StatesThe hotel was somewhat messy, piles of cleaning supplies on the landing. The room was clean but not very pretty or well decorated. The bed was not the most comfortable. It was all fine - just not quite the cost.

BermudaOr shower was terrible, so hard to get on the right temperature and pressure. The only downside of the stay.
Very friendly with a personal feel, and accommodating to our early arrival. Our room type was changed on arrival which wasn’t a problem although looking onto a graveyard, also didn’t bother me. The room was bright and large with a very comfy bed. I didn’t have breakfast but it offered continental options. Great for a couple of nights.

CanadaWe had twin beds but the bedding was for a much larger bed. Neither of us likes to tuck in our blankets but the size of the room had the overhang get in the way. A small quibble but one could trip over the bedding.
The location is great. Walkable to the waterfront and the rest of downtown Halifax. Very pleasant staff. The breakfast was quite good and more than adequate although there was no hot option. The premises were clean. It is an old house so there are some limitations. A very good nearby restaurant offers a small discount for guests.

IrelandThe windows could do with some maintenance, as could some of the woodwork. I stayed in two different rooms and one mattress could do with replacing.
The property is a lovely old building and was clean and comfortable. It is really central, in a great location close to the public gardens, local sights snd shops. It has a homely feel and is very relaxed. It has air conditioning and was very quiet. I slept well.
