The hotel is extremely dated and was very expensive. The bed was great but the hallways were stinky and the carpets etc seemed to be 50 years old. The walls were crazy thin. I could hear everything anyone did in the rooms around us. Especially the snoring but also just walking around or coughing.

I liked the area and the inside hot tub and steam rooms.

    Beautiful setting, mediocre accommodations.

    • Queen and Single Room - Heritage Building
    • Stayed 2 nights

The rooms in the heritage building were worn down and appear to have had the same broken furniture, hard bouncy beds, and stained and milldewy rug for the past two decades. The bathroom barely had room for the tiny, rickety, old toilet. It was incredibly disappointing to have such uncomfortable and unpleasant accommodations at the rate of $250 a night. If we'd had kids with us, I would have been relieved that we wouldn't have to worry about them getting the stained floors wet, but as a child free couple it just felt gross and dirty and we would not stay here again.

The setting was beautiful, right on the lake. The lobby is beautiful with a fireplace and many couches. The springs do have an adult only pool and one hour of the day for adults only and the water and area was very clean.

They charged as a pet fee (expected) as well as enforced room upgrade BECAUSE of the pet (unexpected)... To make it worse - we only got to learn about the additional cost for room upgrade only at check out. No towels in the pools area. Smoking area 10m from the pools. You and your kids can enjoy the outdoor pool swim while breathing cigarette and weed smoke. Wi-Fi was not working in the room.

The pools - there are three outdoors pools as well as one indoors pool and a hot bath. Responsiveness of the staff, e.g. we asked for a kettle to the room, it was provided promptly. Location is the best, very close to the lake and the natural springs. The view from the room was splendid. Lots of dogs, very dog friendly space.

The monopoly they have over the hot springs. People have no choice but to book here if they want to swim in the hot springs. 2 elevators on site are broken and we heard they have been since August 2023. We only got 1 robe in our room for 2 of us. Could use some renovation.

You could swim in the hot springs

Everything was over priced, and the hotel needs to be updated, I have been coming here for over 30 years so I have definitely see the changes, there use to be child minding and special events for the kids, and no tea time in the lobby? And what happened to the pianist in the lobby?? Those are the things people miss about this place and is what made this Resort so special and unique.

The staff was pleasant and very helpful.

The rooms were pretty bad. Filthy carpet, stained furniture, very outdated curtains and furniture. Queen plus twin bed, but the twin was short and my 5ft 8in friends legs hung off the bed.

The pools are lovely, the meal was delicious

I think the buffet food is overpriced. Would like to see the hotel rooms updated i.e. carpet, beds and furniture. Would like to have the bar to be open a little longer perhaps until 11pm.

Love the pool. Buffet food is great too.

Our 1st room was dirty (some splatter on the bathroom wall), and the 2nd room toilet would run after ever flush. They did offer a discount, but it was $25. If we return, we will stay in a different wing.

Hot spring pools were nice. Very crowded at times.

Huge line for check-in and no option for later check-out, even that fact this delay happened due to a shortage of staff; The room was not clean properly: we found hair inside the tub. But thanks to the staff who fixed it after we asked them to clean it. Also, the room and bed were small: looks like a single stay, but they accommodated 2 people there.

I'm not too happy about the daily resort charge. Really?

The pools, the bed and the pillows were great! I love that it is safe and quiet. The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. I like to stay in the older rooms as they have character.

No creamer (only whitening powder) for coffee available anywhere in the hotel, no easy way to get hot water for other hot drinks as there is a k cup machine in the room but no hot water kettle. No microwave to heat up food (we had brought some pancakes) and the blankets were quite thin. After adding the extra blanket in the room it was good!

Beautiful location and really enjoyed the baths. Even the drive out is pretty! The room was great - large and comfy - with amazing water pressure in the showers and comfortable large beds. Allan was so helpful putting us next door to our friends who booked separately 💕 we really appreciated that!

Checked in at 1pm and got the room at 4pm, and I was lucky. I saw some families that got their room past 6pm even though they checked in at about same time with me. The resort showed pet friendly on its site. Bit truth is it is pet friendly in some rooms. So please make sure to call in before your travel. Pricey for a remote hotel. It needs some renovation in the older wing of the buildings.

    The overall hotspring experience.
