To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

AustraliaThey are remodelling the lobby so only one person at reception. There was a queue of people trying to check in including us. Only two lifts for a huge hotel and on departure we had to wait 20min for lift. It was clearly used also by staff working which is understandable but they need to come with a different plan for them as 9am people are trying to check out. Nothing major but can improve their overall customer experience.
Easy access from central station and is also close to metro to move around. Staff were very helpful.

United States of AmericaUnder construction. The whole street for blocks each way from the hotel. The hotel lobby was also being renovated. A lot of traffic due to that street renovation. We stayed on the second floor. Pretty pricey for a room with no view. Loud banging noises for the first few hours outside our room. Really gross smell outside our room. The hotel staff said that someone had cooked fish ....but it smelt like something else entirely. They had some kind of air cleaner going in the hallway. I would stay here again just up on a higher floor. I forgot that when I use booking . Com they get you funky rooms. It's happened more than once.
Location. White spot restaurant and bar right there. Food was great and prices were great. Staff were friendly. I enjoyed my stay, first time to Vancouver. Lots of walking, felt safe in the big city. Great police/security presence. Not many homeless/addictive or pan- handlers on the streets. I find it awkward when you have to fend off panhandlers. Bike lanes, electric bikes and lots of walkers everywhere. Great parks. Cool old buildings.

CanadaMini-fridge in room was set too cold. My apple and organic strawberries froze solid. Odd that tiny blue lights behind the bed headboards stayed on all the time. Could not figure out how to turn them off.
Great Yaletown location. Convenient to use guest laundry and communal kitchen & lounge on the penthouse deck. Nice views from rooftop deck.

United States of Americavalet parking situation was a mess. staff was very inappropriate! got overly excited about driving our car and staff argued in front of us about who would get to drive it. did not respect our wishes of NOT putting an electric scooter in our car. would not answer the phone when we were trying to get our car. didn't have room to park our car at times so left car in an alleyway. made us pay for the most expensive valet option without asking if that was what we wanted (it wasn't). the construction made things tough, but that isn't the hotels fault
front desk staff was very nice and accommodating. my friend I was traveling with was very hard on them and they took it very well. i felt bad.
