    Mostly the incovinance

It is an older building but quaint, needed some serious updating but comfortable. Could have used more cleaning. Our street was blocked off for a city celebration (I would like to have known that at the time we made reservations ) we had to park 3 1/2 blocks away and carry all of our luggage and still was charged $150 for parking.

Breakfast was very poor, limited choice, strange plasticy-tasting croissants, inedible jam... served in a rather soulless basement room (even though it was hot and sunny outside) The air conditioning wasn’t quite powerful enough for the size of the bedroom (but there was a good fan)

Fantastic location near lots of bars and restaurants, more of a suite than a room, big bathroom with a very nice whirlpool bath

The cleanness of the room was disputable, bathroom without ventilation. The bathroom smell by high humidity, the carpet wasn't cleaned. No elevator. Breakfast would be sophisticated if you are in the hotel for a week, it is very poor. The offer was ham and slides of two kinds of cheese, croissant, and a bagel with the muffin.

The rooms in the back are later add-ons and are accessible only from an outdoor corridor/walkway. There is no view, very plain setting; nothing special there.... My ground-floor room was a little musty and took time to warm up. Overall a good value, however, with these caveats.

A very reasonably priced B&B-style hotel in east side of Montreal, near UQAM. Hotel is on a side street amongst other small hotels and local restaurants. It’s a short walk to the bus station, Metro, or the University. Front desk person was very personable and helpful. There are a mix of rooms - better ones in the main building, others facing an outdoor corridor. Room was big enough - furnished in a older style but very comfortable. Very clean bathroom was well equipped. Comfy bed and good heating/ac control. The lower ground floor room was a little cold and musty to start off. A good value for Montreal. Very nice staff. Adequate to good continental breakfast. Adequate facilities.

The staff was friendly but had little time to help customers (particularly with heavy luggage). There is no lift, so i would not recommend this place if you have trouble climbing stairs. My room was huge but if find all this space could be better organized.

Jardin d'Antoine provides a family-like experience in downtown Montreal. Rooms are spacious and the staff was friendly. The breakfast, served in the basement, was abundant, with good products. The neighborhood is easy to reach from the airport - and elsewhere - by public transportation and there are many places around to eat or have a drink.

Noisy at night because of traffic - people and cars. On Friday night a club across the street played very loud, thumping music from 9:00 pm until about 3:00 am. I had little rest and had to get up at 4:30 for an early flight. Breakfast was very continental - the croissants were very good. It would have been nice to have some eggs and hot food.

Our room was great but it was a third floor walkup. We were OK with that but it might be a problem for some folks if that's all they have available.

The hotel really has the feel of a small hotel in the old part of the city. It was quiet even though it's located on a busy street with lots of student and night life right in the middle of the Latin Quarter. Its location is close to public transportation; easy to get around.

    a) carpeting, paint, etc could use upgrade; b) an elevator would make hauling luggage to/from 3rd floor easier. However, that said, these are meant more as conditions for those who need or value those features than complaints; i.e., not sure I'd trade them for higher price, loss of character.

    a) logistics: including easy access to restaurants, bus routes & underground, & (especially for Montreal) easy in/out & inexpensive parking; b) staff: wonderfully helpful (without being over-bearing, always there with hands out), including bus & restaurant recommendations, check-in/out, & other questions; c) comfort: probably the quietest downtown room I've slept in North America, perfectly roomy 2-room suite for two snoring adults; d) breakfast croissants: hot & fresh every morning, not only tasty but consistent with the city's global character; e) good value.

The breakfast was fairly basic and didn't include eggs or much that was hot contrary to what other commenters have indicated. However, it was certainly adequate to provide a good start to the day. And the croissants were very good.

This is not the typical Holiday Inn-type hotel many Americans in particular expect. It's much more like a European hotel...except for relatively large rooms. It's in an old building and hasn't been renovated to look like a sparkling new hotel. But I wouldn't let that deter you from booking here. The staff couldn't have been nicer and more helpful, the rooms were immaculately clean, and the location was very good in terms of finding places to eat and drink. The area around the hotel is very urban but never felt unsafe. Plus, public transportation is just a short walk down the street.

We asked for a quiet room and we were given a room the walls of which were adjacent to wooden stairs and the room was right next to the breakfast room, meaning lots of noise from 7am on. In addition to that, there was no electricity anywhere in the hotel from at least 7am to 11am, which of course also meant no internet, hair dryer etc... Very limited explanation and no apologies provided.

    Good location.

The room (Budget bedroom) was very small. No room to put your stuff somewhere. But it was clean and the bed was comfy.

The location in St. Denis Street is top, you can walk everywhere. Streetcar, shops, bars, everything around. Breakfast was good, they have fresh fruit, croissants, juice, yoghurt. All in all a perfect place when you don't spend a lot of time in the room.

Unfortunately there was a big rain storm in the evening and it affected the electricity. However, breakfast was still served in the morning with candle light and everything worked out fine

It was a quaint place and very clean. The continental breakfast was excellent and it was nice eating it while watching the world go by. Public parking is only a five minute walk and it is 12$ per day Canadian..the hotel is right down the street from many pubs and restaurants.. It is in the Latin quarter and is about a 20 minute walk to old Montreal. It is about a 20 minute walk to the underground shopping in downtown also..

No complimentary lotion/conditioner/toothpaste/toiletries. They have a two-in-one shampoo/bodywash and hand soap available in-room, but that's about it.

In-room a/c worked great, bed was comfy, and everything was super clean. Despite being located in a fairly busy section of old Montréal, this property was also very quiet and private.

As mentioned above, neighbourhood can be intimidating for some.

Nice "Bed and Breakfast" style property, close to all the action in the Latin Quarter. Travellers must be aware that the Latin Quarter may not be for everyone. Can be charming but the number of "street people" may be intimidating to many.

The breakfast, while free, was pretty spare. Only cold cheese, ham, some bread and cereal, and some ok-ish coffee. I would have rather had a cheaper rate and no breakfast at all.

Perfect location, very close to the heart of Montreal. Very quiet and private, and very friendly staff.

The bed wasn't very comfortable and the shower was very small, but tolerable and didn't detract substantially from our experience.

Great staff, they were very helpful. I received an email in French regarding an activity we had signed up for that I couldn't translate and the front desk staff read it to us. The breakfast that was included was also pretty good.
