Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

😊 Everything was great!!!
The owner was so accommodating and greeted us and went beyond any place I stayed. I forgot my camera and he called before we got too far to say he found so we were able to go back and get it. The apartment was furnished with anything you could possibly want. Beautiful place and I would stay there again. I highly recommend this place.

Theaccommodations were excellent. The proprietors were exceptionally friendly and accommodating to our needs. Specifically, they permitted us to store our bicycles in their garage. Communication was excellent.

Only one bathroom and couch in TV room is small and does not fold out into a bed.
Well furnished, clean, functional basement suite with a great layout. Large kitchen, washer/dryer, lots of storage. Host was very welcoming and responsive. Very well outfitted - coffee, tea, bottled water, toothbrushes, and slippers provided. There was even some fruit for us on arrival!

The location is about a 10 minute drive to downtown, but if you don't need to be right downtown, it is an excellent choice.
We had the two bedroom apartment downstairs and found that the rooms were large and comfortable and offered everything that you would want for a short stay or longer. We stayed only one night, but it is a fully outfitted apartment which would be excellent for a longer stay.

A lovely place to stay: spotlessly clean, spacious (for the four of us), well-equipped with loads of small extras: e.g., milk and fruit, tooth brushes. One of the best airbnbs that I’ve stayed in.

This is a spacious and very comfortable apartment in suburban Charlottetown that is also an easy drive to the town centre or supermarkets. The host is very welcoming and generous with items like milk, shampoo, some fruit, laundry detergent. Communication with the host was easy and we received prompt replies re our arrival time. The apartment has its own private access and parking is available in the driveway. We really appreciate staying in an apartment with a washing machine and dryer, this apartment also has a dish washer. The bed was large and very comfortable. We highly recommend this apartment and the host.

The location was in a quiet neighborhood that was a 13 minute drive to downtown Charlottetown. Our host had fruit, milk, coffee and tea, juice and water which was greatly appreciated. We were able to park our car in the driveway which was nice.

This basement suite was amazing—very cozy and comfortable, with two bedrooms each featuring a king-size bed. I accidentally left something behind when I checked out, and the host kindly arranged to have it delivered to me. He was incredibly helpful and thoughtful. Highly recommended!

Clean and comfortable. Great bedrooms. Great kitchen with stoves, fresh drinking water, cups, glasses, forks, knives, everything you'd need to make a quick breakfast. Great host. Great location. We didn't expect bread, eggs, fruit and bottled water, but the host provided them all, even including coffee and coffee maker. This is an excellent facility with a short drive to downtown Charlottetown. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone who travel with family members to Charlottetown.

Very nice! The host was friendly & prompt to reply. The apartment had 2 big king size beds. Lots of space & very clean. Nice location & was quiet. We appreciated the extra amenities and thoughtful "extras". One side note- there is no tv.

There was no television which my husband missed but I didn’t.lol
They are a lovely couple and it was super thoughtful to have things for breakfast. We were not expecting that and it was a very nice surprise.

Parking is next to a fire hydrant, did not look right. Usually you must not park within 25 feet. Being a basement apartment, you limited daylight views.
Very easy, details were provided to us via email, and the host was on location to assist if we had had problems, which we did not.
