How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Staff: They need to be trained and more friendly. One of the staff is rude and does not accommodating which they need to improve that attitude especially when regards to customer service. It would be nice to switch for room. Hope they provide soap at least.
The location is very accessible to all like street car stop, parks, walking distance to Spadina and China Town where there is a near convenience store. The room given to me was okay but unfortunately you cannot choose which part to stay.

The shared bathroom needs to be upgraded and the bed was not very comfortable. But for the price it is excellent value.
A typical dorm where you share bathroom with a lot of other people and have your own room. It is very central in downtown of Toronto and close to everything and the Spadina subway and streetcar is just some minutes in walking distance. Excellent value for the money and for the location.

There was only one working (barely) shower for the whole floor and even that one didn't work properly with most hot water going thru the tap and cold water running out of shower head. It was due to the breakage of the shower head.

Manners of front desk staff were too casual as they were uni students; only one lift available to all residents of the building so it could take a while to wait sometimes.
Private room in a modern uni student accommodatiom located a few steps away from a streetcar stop. Clean and comfortable with communal kitchen and laundry facility to use.

We booked 2 rooms. My room has soap and my son does not.
The location is perfect. A street training stop is just in from of the door.

Poor quality bed , No place to eat . not even a coffee.
The place was very clean . The room quite small, the bed very uncomfortable , just a thin maybe 5 inch Rubber mattress . So very uncomfortable, one expects more for the cost of the room. No place to eat there , can't even buy a coffee there. The nearest place to eat one must walk 15 minutes to Tim Hortons . For a regular meal walk for 35 minutes plus. Checking in was extremely slow.

As expected with university dorms, the bed is a little hard, but the wonderful pillow makes it all comfortable!
The value for money is excellent as long as you don't mind sharing a bathroom! Good AC as well which was very welcome. The shared kitchen is great as well for leaving leftovers in the fridge or cooking something yourself.

Great location, close to streetcars. Room and bathroom very clean. It's a university dorm, so it's pretty basic. The price was worth it, accommodations in Toronto are super expensive.

Washroom was dirty, common room was smelled. Pillow was too low which made my neck hurt… some students made noise at late night…which was really annoying…
Location is great, near streetbus station, or it you walk for 10 minutes can arrive subway station. Also near royal museum & university of Toronto which take 10-15 minutes walk.

Elevator was a bit slow, wasn't sure if stairs were available.

There is literally nothing in the kitchen ! No pan, nothing and that’s a shame. No fork no bowl absolutely anything. When you know most people are staying long term, that’s a shame. At least try. Because for the amount of money paid that should be added. Go to dollarama or something.

The bed was a bit uncomfortable, showers need better cleaning.
It's located close to public transit, and within walking distance to the ROM and Chinatown. As for the facilities... I mean, you get what you paid for. The room was very clean, with a single bed, a desk, and a small closet. The bed wasn't comfy and the pillow was very flat. The washrooms are divided into male/female, and overall the toilets were clean but the showers needed a bit of a deep clean. Wifi worked great on my laptop, but not so much on my mobile.
