Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Stayed in the Ski Shanty there at MacKenzie village & can honestly say l9oked amazing when booking & was overly excited to take the family in this vacation... until after booking I was told there was a mid stay hot tub inspection...not the worste thing & I understand the reasoning,, but asked to have it booked for later in the day as they were to come 9am - 3pm & didn't want to be distributed that early if not needed, but was told basically they come when they come, also was given an opportunity to check in earlier or later, so decided to try & book in at 3pm due to possibly arriving earlier than expected but was told no.. 4pm is ur check in.. k, then. Y give the choice...then the email with all the rules come, do this, do that.. basically u get a place cleaned by the previous renter.. but only to there desire.. the day before arriving then we get there, looks amazing, great view, nice apartment size. Then start looking around.... first room has stains on the sheets, shower glass still stained, hair on bathroom floor / shower floor, bathroom sink plugged to a very slow drain, next bedroom. Decently clean, tight room, same as first (maybe 1 ft on either side of beds & small closet). K.. kitchen great. Nicely open concept, clean. Living room.... rug definitely needs washed, then life up rug & well... seems the previous cleaning desire was under there... only noticed cus I almost broke an ankle stepping in what felt like a Lego.. turns out it was a kids magnet (fyi i put it on the fridge & left dirt under rug as is).. but yes they did give lots of games etc.. for family's/ kids to play. Nicely done honestly, good to see. Hot tub area. Tight balcony,, but overall. Nice & relaxing. But beware of the BBQ fine. I use & dint clean it's $50. Ha. But here's the catch. There's no BBQ cleaning utensils.. good luck...

Bedrooms were quite small and felt cramped with such large beds in them.
Gorgeous decoration and everything felt exceptionally clean. Fantastic facilities and cooking utensils. Having a hot tub was nice!

You are living more or less on a building site as on both slides of the building there are major construction works. Very early in the morning, the trucks start using the road in front of the core sleeping room and the building machines start working creating a lot of dust. Very loud AC in main sleeping room.
Nice apartment with all things you need including own space in parkade. Comfy beds

Beds were a little soft otherwise comfortable
Perfect size for our needs. Well supplied with pots and pans and delicious local coffee. Hot tub was a bonus and had everything we could need.

Great views, full kitchen had all the amenities that made us feel right at home and able to make full use of the apartment. Hot tub was a nice addition. Space was super clean and everything felt very new. The shot ski was a really cool bonus!

I liked everything about the place! The only think I could complain are the constructions around it, but we were told about it beforehand, so can't say I didn't know before booking. Noise didn't bother us at all, so can't really complain.
The apartment is very well designed and every corner was specially treated. Fully equipped kitchen made it easy for us to cook a delicious meal to eat around the huge kitchen island. Bathroom had a good size, cold and hot water working well and white clean towels for every guest (the little towels for make up removal were a very nice touch!). Did not use the washer and dryer, but they looked new. All the beds (including the sofa bed) were very comfortable and with a good size. I have a king size bed at home and it fit me and my wife well! Location was great. Just outside of the city's center, but close enough for a quick ride into it, as needed.

There was a code for the building sent by email - very easy to use. When we had some directional issues due to local construction, someone was available by phone to help us - super friendly and helpful.

The Ski Shanty was perfect for our 6 night stay for our party of 4! The building is new, everything was clean with fun decor and super comfy. The kitchen is extremely well stocked - better than many! Location near Revelstoke Mountain Resort couldn't be better and the many restaurants, stores was a mere 5-10 minute drive, plenty of parking. The building was very quiet, the AC was great in the 30C+ temp for sleeping. Terrific value for the amenities!
