To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.

All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

CanadaI dropped a marker behind the dresser, when I went to retrieve it that was an old empty beer can back there, my 6 year old also found another empty beer can under my bed. I had also stepped on something sharp on my way to the washroom in the middle of the night, i turned on the light and it was a small piece of glass. It didn’t break the skin much but I was happy it was me and not my 6 year old.
The staff were super friendly and professional, my 6 year old loved the pool! the breakfast was beyond expectations! Tasty and nutritious. The view of the river from my room was pleasant to wake up to and I slept really well, the beds were super cozy.

I booked this place multiple times and we book it because there is a hot tub in the pool area. This time the hot tub was cold. My regular bathtub at home is hotter than it was. Disappointing as that was the reason why we book this particular hotel.

Canadaasked twice for additional desk chair because of back issues; yes they said but no nothing showed up; checked in while power outage with no emergency lighting - dark and dangerous hallways; both key cards stopped working at same time - went back down to have them recoded and encountered long line up to get to front desk - only one staff at front desk but manager came out a couple of times and did nothing to assist - waited 20 minutes to have cards recoded and no explanation as to why they stopped working. on checkout no staff at front desk and rang bell several times for about 5 minutes...sigh.

CanadaThe tub didn't have a stopper and I had to stuff a face cloth in the drain, that didn't even have a metal guard if a ring had slipped of my finger it would have gone down the drain.
The building is showing its age and in need of fresh paint and caulking in the bathroom

CanadaHot water was iffy from the sink, we didn't dare try the shower. The cleaning staff gathered in the hall and we could hear everything said. Only found out in the breakfast area that you aren't allowed to bring food back to the room?!? Very bizarre considering there is a fridge in the room!

CanadaOld style heat pumps do not effectively cool the room and are noisy. Future updates should consider converting to mini-split type heat pumps which are quite and more energy efficient. Shower did not work properly as 50% of the water came out of the spout while the remainder came out of the spray nozzle. Could not adjust to work properly.
Room was comfortable and breakfast offered a wide variety of choices with ample eating space.
