Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThere is no closet in the room, and wash cloths were not provided. There is no elevator, and I was on the fourth floor, but that was not a problem for me. (I knew that there was no elevator when I booked.) Use caution if parking your car on the street. My car was broken into, and I had to have a window replaced. Nothing was stolen-- I'm not sure why it was broken into.
Bed was comfortable, shower was good, hotel manager was very nice, wifi worked well. Price was good. Hotel is located near a major metro station and parking garages. Restaurants are not too far away.

AustraliaThe bed was quite uncomfortable and made a lot of noise. Small stairs case to reach the floors, so be aware if you have luggage.
The location was close to metro, and lots of food options within a block or two. Staff were friendly and helpful

United KingdomRoom wasn’t as clean as I would have hoped when I arrived. Floor was a bit dusty and there was a frozen meal left in the freezer from previous guests which had a nasty smell. The location isn’t great, I never felt in danger or anything but if you’re a solo traveller you may not feel comfortable walking at night especially if you’re female. Despite that, during the day you’ll be absolutely fine and even during the night there’s usually quite a lot of people around. The room was pretty warm, and having the window open at night is a bit of an issue as there’s lots of noise from the road. It wasn’t so bad during the time of year I stayed but may get very hot during summer. Tv was very strange to use and the quality was really bad, not sure if I was just using it wrong though. The check in desk area / hallways are really dated so when initially entering you hotel you have a bad first impression and expect the rooms to be equally as bad.
Extremely nice and welcoming staff, they make you feel at home and comfortable right away. Just very nice people in general. I was surprised when I entered the room because it didn’t match the rest of the building at all, it was much more modern and cosy looking. The bed was really comfortable, had some of the best sleeps I’ve had in ages while staying here. Room has decent facilities such as a tv, fridge and a table for eating at. Good modern looking bathroom. Location itself it’s great but it is only a 5 minute walk from the berri uqam metro station.

BrazilThe bed is a little noisy, but nothing that would take our sleep away.
The hotel is a great choice if you have a limited budget and will spend a weekend or a few days in Montreal. The lady from the reception desk kept our luggage after the check out, since our train was scheduled to later that day. Although it's common, we always appreciate that. Every day they cleaned the room and changed towels. The bed is good although a little noisy. The shower is great! I guess the best part is the location. The hotel is around 7 minutes walking from Berri station (which is one of the main stations in Montreal bc you can take the subways lines orange, green and yellow). Also there's some restaurants and convenience stores around. In my opinion is a great value for money to stay in a city where the hotels are not that cheap.

CanadaThe entrance definitely needs an update and the carpet to stairs has to be changed. It is worn and dirty. Some of the smells of cooking food and fish are very strong and greet you when you enter.
Didn’t know about breakfast. The area is sketchy. The front entrance and the carpeting leading upstairs is worn and dirty. The staff are very accommodating and try to help. Our tv not working but they were very quick to come and set it up.

United KingdomJust be aware, no elevator (it physically wouldn't fit anywhere...)
So, going in my expectations were very low I have to say, as it is advertised as a 1 star hotel. As you come through the main entrance, it is not very promising either, and it has 3 floors with no elevators, however, the room was substantially better than I would have expected, there was nothing wrong with it, it was clean, the staff was exceptionally friendly. It totally exceeded my expectations and I would gladly go back!

CanadaNo elevator would be a problem for some people, but actually In prefer walking up a few flights of stairs compared with hotels where you always have to wait for the lift.
