Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesEverything was great! It was a wonderful way to begin our vacation! We would love to come back again soon!
We were very glad we chose the Hotel Adler for our stay in Zurich. Our stay was perfect and we highly recommend this location for many reasons. The hotel staff was wonderful, most professional, welcoming and fluent in English. The hotel is spotless throughout. We are quite particular about beds and they were perfect in every way. The bed is actually 2 twin beds put together to form a king with mattresses which give perfect support, neither too soft or too firm, the pillows had comfortable amount of loft, not too dense or flat and the sheets were wonderful as well. The room was a nice size with a comfortable chair next to the bed and window, and a wooden arm chair at the counter. There are lovely city vista murals throughout the hotel and on one wall of our room. The bathroom was a good size and had a nice sized tub/shower. The closet area was sufficient and extra blankets were available. A lovely good sized window was next to the bed -great for fresh and views of the city streets below. The restaurant downstairs is ranked in the top 50 of over 1,700 in Zurich on TripAdvisor with delicious food and excellent service. On our first afternoon we enjoyed two types of cheese fondue, the black truffle and the restaurants special fondue. Both were great! In addition we ordered a lovely garden salad, wine and coffee and were full enough that we didn’t even think about eating anything more the rest of the day. We enjoyed sitting at their outdoor tables. There is a long line at the restaurant for dinner, so reservations are recommended for those hours. Breakfast is available in the restaurant each morning and has an excellent selection of breads, sandwich meats, salmon, cheese, eggs, yogurt, cereals, fruit, milk, juice and made-to-order coffee. The hotel is in a perfect location, an easy 10 minute walk from the train station and from the lake, in the heart of the lively Niederdorf district with many good restaurants, bars and shops nearby.

United StatesOur room was a little warm. The only way to cool it down was to open the window.
The location can't be beat. It's right in the middle of everything. You're connected to Swiss Churi which is one of the top bistros in town. Our room was huge for European standards. I loved it.

GreeceVery central hotel and conveniently located to walk around Zurich. Despite being so central, it wasn't noisy in the evenings, at least I did not have any issues sleeping on the 3rd floor. Lots of bars/ restaurants around. The room was clean and comfortable, a rather simple room but cosy.

SwitzerlandTo me quality of sleep is my main criterion for the hotel - that was not the best in this hotel: the bed is way too hard - appropriate for a heavy person and there was work in the hotel in the morning that could be heard. Bathroom - old fashioned bathtub - no shower cabin, old toilet which slams when you close it, tissue paper for the face just above the toilet.
That the breakfast was included, the hotel was flexible to let me check out 1 hour later.

United Kingdomnothing negative to report. The hotel is located on a busy corner with pedestrian trafffic but noise was minimum and at a very acceptable level.
Hotel was great value for money. Friendly and helpful staff. My colleague used the local gym access to which was provided freely by the hotel. Very pleased.

IsraelThe only cons: lots of noises outside as the rooms are not soundproof, and there is construction work being done outside. We also found the breakfast offerings a bit sparse for vegans, but the staff helped and offered to accommodate. For vegans, I highly recommend the organic shop nearby as it has a great deal of variety, as well as the restaurants Roots and Beetnut. (Just be aware that a flexi burger has ingredients that some would not consider vegan).
The hotel is situated in the heart of city center, everything within a short walk or by train. The bed is very comfortable and the bedding lush. The stuff is extremely helpful and nice and helped with everything. The complimentary water bottles, milk, and coffee - a really nice touch.

IrelandThe downside of the central location is that there are a lot of bars and restaurants in the area which meant there was a lot of noise outside until late into the night at 4 am. I would suggest you bring ear plugs and if you're a light sleeper who is not in Zurich to party, I would suggest a different hotel as I am not sure you will get much sleep. In addition to the night noise there is building work currently ongoing in the area and on Saturday morning they started drilling and banging just after 6 am. One last comment is that the restaurant joined is very popular for cheese fondue so there is quite a pungent cheesy aroma in the hotel especially at breakfast, this particular point wouldn't prevent me staying again but it's just something to note.
Short stay at Hotel Adler Zurich. The hotel is nicely decorated and clean. The facilities are very good with free water on the first floor. The staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was limited to continental but was tasty. The amenities in the bedrooms were good. They kindly upgraded me to a double room which was much appreciated. The location is extremely central within walking distance to all attractions and the train station.

United StatesThis time, we seeing missed the historical paintings, decorations, and the "Chuchichaschli" (little kitchen cabinet) that was in the lobby when we stayed in September. These were probably not replaced after the lobby renovation.
Location is fabulous. We were able to walk to the Tonhalle for a concert in 10 minutes, and it's only a 15-minute walk to the main station. Breakfast is fantastic, and can be enjoyed in time to make flights to North America. It was so nice to hear all of the city's church bells ring for 15 minutes at 1900 Saturday evenings.

AustraliaThe hotel's lobby is under renovations, and so each time entry and exit was through the work and via a side door. This is, I'm told, temporary, and should be completed by the end of February. But for the moment it is inconvenient.

United KingdomHaving to go outside to the restaurant, as a solo female traveller prefer to be unde hotel roof earlier than most other travellers.
The hotel was in a great location, it could be a bit noisy, but when booking a town centre location you have to expect this. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and very clean. The shower was great. The breakfast was a smal continental selection, but was very fresh and topped up regularly rather than sitting there for hours, it was all perfect.
