Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceThe walls are fine so you can hear your neighbours a lot plus there's a church in the vicinity so you hear the bells ringing quite a lot.
The room was big and comfortable. You could make yourself tea and coffee.

SingaporeThis cannot be helped, but the narrow and winding stairs to our room was a little challenging with a large suitcase. Do not expect any lifts as this is a historical area. The way to the place is a cobblestone path, very much like the old days but can be detrimental to suitcase wheels.
The room was surprisingly modern, with a small apartment-like kitchenette and shower stall but with preserved ceiling beams and quaint flooring. It’s well placed in the centre of town, accessible to the bus stop and other amenities.

ItalyThe room is very cozy and nice. The bed is very comfy. A big flat digital TV was a nice bonus! The room is also equipped with a small kitchenette, coffee machine (with coffee capsules), kettle (and tea), and all necessary cooking supplies. Clean bathroom with great shower! The location is excellent -- in the city center and close to nice restaurants. The staff is very nice and promptly responsive. They reply within minutes and provided me with all the info and things I asked for. They even left me coupons to enjoy the city. I had a great stay -- recommended!

SwitzerlandPermanent strong cooking smell from restaurant downstairs. A bit gloomy in the room as the lighting is not good. Charm of the historic building reduced through mismatched 'updates' and furniture. Would have been good to be able to collect the visitors cards before check in time since they give free entry to so many things (and to be informed about that).
Great location, easy check in and check out, good communication. Quirky room with plenty of space for our family and the possibility to cook a simple meal in the bar/kitchenette

Canada10 minutes walk from the train station, right in the middle of the historical area. Instructions were clear from the owner to check in by myself. Up the spiral staircase, the room on top was large and comfortable with view on the square (and soon will be renovated like the other I saw next door - will then get even higher marks for facilities and value for money, assuming all stays the same).

United States of AmericaNothing much as everything is seconds away once you exit the hotel.
This a great option for solo travelers and/or couples who need a clean room in a great location (at the foot of the castle). Must be comfortable with remote check-in and steep stairs. Minimal staff but pleasant and efficient.

CanadaThe check-in was confusing because there is no reception. There also wasn't AC as advertised. Instead, there was a fan, so the room was a little warm on a hot summer day.
The hotel is right in the center of the old town, so it is easy to get everywhere from it.

AustraliaI booked with "Booking". When given a price for the room, I expect to pay exactly the price that is quoted in the booking. The price was given in Swiss francs and I paid in Swiss francs. However, I just discovered that I have to pay an additional 7 Swiss francs for the exchange rate because the money actually goes to the Netherlands. When the price is given in Swiss francs and I pay in Swiss francs, I don't expect to pay extra for the exchange rate. There is no mention of the additional cost when you do your booking.
A very good place to stay in the heart of Neuchatel.

SwitzerlandToo noisy, I couldn't sleep half of the night because of the very loud music coming from the backyard - sounded like a restaurant with live music. I absolutely loved the place and facilities, but the late evening noise was a problem for me
Excellent location, easy to find, nice room - sizewise and very nicely decorated, bed was comfy. You have your own kitchenette, coffee machine and a microwave, so you can cook yourself a proper meal if you prefer that. The owners are very polite and helpful.

HungaryThe furnitures are old as in the pics. Be careful - the electric connectors may not fit to your plugs.
The old building is in the historical city centre, near the castle. The bed is comfortable, there are microwave oven, coffee machine with coffee, fridge. The key was in a security box, it was easy to get in. The owner is helpful.

United KingdomA lovely Hotel right by the old church clock and a lovely fountain. I had a great view from the window into the street below and lovely to hear the clock chimes. The room has lots of original features. the bathroom is a little dated but is more than adequate for what you need. Entry is by keycode which is good and you are sent very detailed instructions before you arrive.
