The hospitality and service provided by Hotel Appenzell exceeded our expectations. They accommodated our special requests as we travelled with our infant. Their rooms were very spacious and well maintained. The staff were always there to make us feel comfortable throughout our stay. Excellent breakfast and I would definitely recommend to stay at this property for its location and service.

To my taste, food in the restaurant was a bit salty.

It was a nice weekend visit of Appenzell. The hotel is located on the main square of the city. We had a good room with a cot provided for free. The room was equipped with comfy beds, bath, wardrobe, a couple of arm chairs and a table, free WiFi. Breakfast was fresh, tasty and with many options. We had a dinner at the hotel and were satisfied with ordered dishes. If you are with small children, you could find some books, colouring books, some toys and entertaining items. Besides restaurant, the hotel has its own bakery / cafeteria, which is open all day long.

One minor thing not really controllable by the hotel, but it was rather hot when we stayed and without AC it made the evenings/ sleeping a little uncomfortable. While opening the windows helped it did mean we also had to live with the noises associated with being in the middle of town.

This was our second stay at this hotel, and still as good as the first time. Great location in the middle of town and only a short flat walk to and from the station. This time we got a room with the windows facing the hills and fields just out of town. These rolling hills are one of the reasons we revisited the region and it was great to be able to see them from our window. The breakfast set-up was great as before and the eggs on the Sunday were a nice bonus. Great communication in regards to getting our Appenzell Cards which made getting around the area so much easier.

Breakfast, staff, location, and the rooms were all very nice. Appenzell is a small town so this is close to everything and very walkable. Beautiful location, great breakfast, very friendly staff, and even had parking.

The room was comfortable, but a little noisy above the active restaurant at night. No a/c which could cause issues in the heat of summer.

This was a classic Swiss hotel with gorgeous architectural details. The cafe food was very good for both breakfast and dinner. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is located in the center of Appenzell town and convenient to all walkable areas.

It was expensive.

The location is excellent. It is very clean and comfortable. We were unable to watch any English speaking television and we couldn’t air play onto the tv. Other than that, it was a wonderful one night stay in a cute town with nice shops. The food at the restaurant and the buffet were very good.

No air conditioning in most Swiss alps hotels.

Hotel appenzell is on the main square in this quaint, picturesque town. It has a fabulous conditori and wonderful restaurant. Everything is redone in this historic, three star hotel. Free parking was a big plus!

-no fridge in room, it should have at least a small one -bin somewhat small -eggs need to be ordered separately rather than taken from location as some waitresses mistake fried and cooked eggs at least if you ask in english - pillow is strange, it adapts to your head I did not like it -instead of placing items for sale in a buffey which confuse, they could put some bacon/eggs/sausagges facilities

I loved the breakfast items, the croissants were the best I've ever had. The room was beautiful, the windows blocked the outside noise perfectly. The staff was so kind when we needed another bed.

We love the breakfast and staff in the restaurant- th location of the hotel on the main square is ideal. This was our second time visiting and staying with the Hotel Appenzell. The downside is that it can stay noisy a bit later but the hotel is so quaint and authentic.
