Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Nothing — everything was great
The apartment was in an excellent central location, making it easy to reach everything on foot. It was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The host was extremely friendly, cooperative, and quick to respond to any questions or needs. The check-in process was smooth, and everything was well-prepared for our stay.

Cleanliness, the apartment in general is pretty old, the floor is slightly sticky, kitchen is a bit old and shower room no ventilation. The shower room door doesn't close properly. Not super close to the train station.
Spacious bedrooms, have everything you need for short stays. Clear check in instructions and flexible check-in. Quiet neighbourhood and not touristy. Close to the iconic fountain.

The low hanging lamp in the living room.
The host gave clear check in instructions with photos which was helpful. The supermarkets are nearby and convenient. The apartment is small but cozy.

Decor was a little 'tired' but everything was perfectly adequate for our short stay.
Location of accommodation was perfect, very central, close to restaurants, shops and public transport and a stones throw from the famous Jet D'eau and flower clock. The area felt very safe to walk around at night time. The bedrooms were spacious and the beds comfortable and clean. Having 2 separate rooms was a must for me as I was travelling with my son. (you could also see into the kitchen of the Inda Restaurant next door - which was spotless at all times - steaks were amazing)

A toaster would have been nice. It was very noisy at night time especially in the early hours from the shops/restaurants downstairs.
Central location close to all tourist attractions in Geneva. Simple but sufficient apartment. The host was absolutely fantastic. Communication was brilliant and he let us check in early and check out late at no extra cost.

Restaurant below was a bit noisy.
It was located close to amenities. We walked everywhere we wanted to go from the apartment. Set out well, comfortable and a great bed.

A plug for the bathtub would have been nice.
Very good location and kid-friendly. Close to various grocery stores, the lake and other sights. The apartment had everything we needed for living there for a couple nights.

The flat was very comfortable for our family and we found the secure access fantastic, the communication from the host was fantastic and the location is great! We recommend the place for anyone looking to stay here.

Parking was a bit of a challenge.

It was very warm and the bathroom was old the tv in one of the rooms don't have channels and signal.
We liked that it's big and safe There is everything you would need for a stay,the location is very good and near lac Geneve and supermarkets.

There is no cooling aircon in the apartment, which is the only minus during summer time.
Best location, geneva lake and landmark in walking distance, nice bars and restaurants surrounded, we enjoyed our stay.

Excellent location and had everything we needed for our stay. Very close to the lake and the Eaux Vives beaches. Plenty of restaurants and bars nearby and Migros supermarket just around the corner.

Great location! Lots of great bars and restaurants to choose from for all budgets. Walked everywhere easily and easy to access transport to get around the city. Clear and easy instructions to check in and communication was great with the hosts. Very responsive and helpful. Also provided a portacot and high chair also which was great. Also had a washing machine and dryer which was great.
