Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandI missed a minibar in the room.
Very spacious and clean room. Very friendly staff. Well located, close to the centre and a few steps from the train station, perfect as a departure point for some nice hikes.

Czech RepublicThe hotel's location results in a lot of traffic noise, both from the adjacent very frequented road and from trains. The restaurant's exterior suffers even worse for this, at time once could barely carry a conversation due to the immense traffic noise. The hotel is unfortunately located in what is a beautifully located town. When I arrived, there was no-one in the hotel and I was required to self-check in using keys "hidden" in a small "locker" next to the entrance. Fortunately some Swiss who arrived at the same as me helped me figure out how this actually worked.
A small hotel adjacent to both the towns rail station and the main road leading into it. The room was extremely (almost comically) spacious. The restaurant downstairs offers excellent food, and is shaded by a huge, gorgeous, probably centuries old tree.

SwitzerlandI had a room facing the road and the station. It was very noisy and I couldn’t shut the window as it was too hot. The curtains were not blocking any light which isn’t good in summer.
The owners were very nice and friendly. I had dinner and the mixed salad and pizza was delicious. Very nice coffee at breakfast

RomaniaThis was a gem of a find! The hotel is very beautiful and the surroundings with the lake and mountain wall and waterfall are splendid. Restaurant at the hotel was very good also - especially the soups were delicious! We spent only one night at the location before traveling further into the Alps but would definitely like to return for some hikes and bike riding.

SwitzerlandMy room was facing the street and the trainstation, so when I had the window open, it was very loud, which made it hard to sleep. As there was no air conditioning, I needed to keep the window open.
The room was comfortable and the hotel was close to grocery stores.

United KingdomThe hotel was perfect in all ways. The room was spotlessly clean throughout our stay, a great size with nice decor, with a stunning view of the great mountain edifice which overlooks the village of Walenstadt. The breakfast is delicious and fresh from 7 each day, as is the evening restaurant (the pizza is amazing). Reto and the other staff are so kind and hospitable, it is such a nice and warm place they run! The hotel is also ideally situated next to a train and bus station, for access by railway from Zurich (and Zurich Airport), as well as for skiing in the resort of Flumserberg; one can easily get to both Tannenboden (444 bus, then SJ gondola), and Tannenheim (444 bus and S17 train). One can truly relax and rest excellently in this hotel, the atmosphere is that of great peace. Well done!

United StatesHotel Churfirsten is conveniently located just across from the Walenstadt train station and is a special hotel in this small city. This area is so so beautiful, the staff is incredibly friendly, and I would gladly stay here again. Breakfast is nice and has a good variety, and the rooms are spacious and have amazing views.

GermanySome of the bathroom doors need maintenance but nothing alarmingly bad.
The breakfast was quite a nice spread. The staff were extremely friend and helpful. The location cannot get better. It is right in front of the train station with an underpass directly leading upto the hotel.

SlovakiaNoise: The noise level was unbearable. The hotel is located only about 50 meters from a railway station, which is simply unacceptable. Trains stopped running only around 11 p.m., but started again at 5 a.m. In between, the silence was filled with passing cars and heavy trucks, since a busy road runs just 5 meters from the hotel. • Furniture & Comfort: The furniture is very old and worn-out. It is hard to call this place a proper hotel; rather, it feels more like a simple overnight stop for exhausted travelers passing by. The furniture made the stay extremely uncomfortable: shabby, damaged, and inconvenient. The bed and pillows felt decades old, with pillows probably around 30 years old. • Bedding: The bed linen was terrible—cheap, worn, and uncomfortable. • Breakfast: The breakfast was very poor, lacking in quality and taste, and left a bad impression.
• Parking: Free parking is available at the hotel, which is very convenient for guests traveling by car. • Host: The owner is welcoming and friendly, creating a pleasant first impression. • Check-in: The check-in process was quick and efficient. • Clarity: Everything was explained in a clear and transparent manner.
