Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Squeaking floor in our room.
The gentle at the reception is the best. His service is beyond the ceiling. He even came with us to the parking to assist which beyond his duties. Well knowledgeable in the whole Geneva in a way he gives us a complete guidance from transportation, restaurant all the way to the attractions. Lastly, the location is excellent as it is near the train station.

As the hotel is on a busy street, we did hear the traffic through the night (we stayed Saturday to Sunday so perhaps it's less busy on week days). If you have ear plugs it shouldn't be a problem.
Very friendly staff welcome and only 8 minutes walking from the train station. We came with a baby and it was good to have an elevator. We were upgraded to a family room - and were very pleased with the support provided (a baby bed, room with a bath tub) and enough space for us. Shower had a nice pressure. We liked the space of the room, although some might find it a little outdated we thought it had history. Breakfast was available for only CHF5, we didn't make use of it but found a very cute bakery around the corner where we got a baguette.

One night stay. Excellent welcome and support. Very clean and tidy and good location. Pavel at the front desk was very helpful and klnd. Bathroom was clean albeit small. Nice, warm rooms. Short walk from the station was a bonus. We were not expecting much from a 2 star so were pleasantly surprised!

Room is not noise controlled. So noisy at night from the traffic and trains. I imagine it's not just the room I stayed in. Double glass windows is a must for an institution of this calibre!!
Staff were amazing!! Location is great. Room was good all things considered. Nice coffee and pastry every morning!!

A kettle in the room would be nice but it's not really necessary as there is fantastic coffee available at breakfast.
The staff are all the most friendly and helpful. The place is charming. The room was clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.

Toilet bahtroom structure is not that comfortable

The TV had limited channels available, and 95% of the ones working were in French (to be expected of course!). We were also told that to get the WiFi we just put our number in and it would work, but we had to obtain a few pass by putting my credit card details in.
Enjoyed the friendly staff and cleanliness. The hotel was also quite quirky and in a fairly good location. The beds were also very comfortable, and towels were replaced each day which was nice, didn't expect this as we were only there for 2 full days.

Lack of electrical outlets is annoying and the WiFi is complicated to join.
Decent hotel relatively close to Cornavin. Realistically, any hotel in Geneva is close to Cornavin, bearing in mind you're given free public transport. de Geneve is slightly old-style but provides all the necessities. Shower pressure was good, bed comfortable.

No complaints for me personally but a larger person would struggle in the bathroom due to the size.
Really nice little hotel, friendly staff throughout our stay and great location for visiting the many sites in the city.
