Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThe kitchen was really only suitable for reheating food, not preparing a meal. There was no extractor and the window had to be kept open when cooking or the fire alarm went off. There was no microwave or oven. There was a kettle but no socket in the kitchen, it had to be plugged in beside the bed. There was no coffee maker. There were no bowls. There was only one chair so we had to eat in turns. The shower was above the bath and access to it was very difficult
The location was excellent, on a quiet street close to the lake, close to buses and trams, and 15 minutes walk from the train station. The room was clean, towels were changed daily, and the bed was comfortable. It was convenient to have a small kitchen though this was very basic see below

AustraliaAs I said above, we were a bit of a walk from shops, cafes etc and both my husband and I have mobility issues.
Reasonable hotel that offered breakfast which was fortunate as it was a short walk from main Promenade but there were no coffee shops etc in close proximity. However, it had a lift which was a bonus for us!

SingaporeThe room not well ventilated. At times a bit stuffy. The divider at the shower area is not fixed. It kept coming off and have to use something to stop it.
Location and friendly staff. We wanted the room brighter and the staff came with some different light bulbs to make it brighter. On a particular morning, we were rushing so we can catch the bus to chamonix. The electricity suddenly tripped and we went down to seek help. The staff came really quickly and fixed the issue. All good after that.

United KingdomNot the hotel's fault but we missed the fact that there is no AC in the bedrooms. It was unbearable with the recent hot weather.

United KingdomIt was exceptionally hot when we stayed in Geneva, the rooms have no air con so it was very hot at night. Car parking was an additional charge of 25F per night which seems quite a high charge.
Good location. Rooms were very nice and we even had a lake view. Staff on reception were very helpful.

GermanyIt's not a complaint, as it is stated explicitly on the hotel page, rather a comment: the room did not have air conditioning, so during summer nights it can be terribly hot in the room, even with fans, that the hotel kindly provides.

United StatesI found it really loud all night maybe due to the location. Windows needed to be open and a fan on all night due to extreme heat. A lot of people yelling and cars racing on the streets. I also felt that area was less desirable in Geneva. I was safe but I didn’t feel 100% comfortable either.
It was a huge room with a kitchenette, bath, closet, and bedroom which could be separated from the other areas. Very clean and bed was comfortable. The staff were wonderful. I love that I got a free Geneva pass to use.
