Depending on the staff attending to the breakfast room in the morning, breakfast items do not get replenished efficiently. Limited breakfast spread. Room can be quite noisy due to announcements from the train station and traffic noise. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room.

Bed was not very comfortable - the mattress was uneven and sagged. A light bulb needed replacing in the room.

Very convenient location just opposite station and close to town centre restaurants etc. The hotel was unmemorable and unremarkable but perfectly adequate for our stay. The breakfast was surprisingly good, even home made jams and muesli.

Breakfast was nice - the location was excellent and easy to find just opposite the train station. The staff were friendly and organised a trip to the thermal bath for a reasonable price. There was no issue with check in or check out and the location was great for access to Zermatt and also on the Glacier express route. The room itself was basic but was quite spacious. We had a room at the back of the hotel which had a lovely view of the mountains and no noise from the train station or road

Poor staff, very tiny room and bathroom with outdated design and facilities. We came to check in early and there was no any reception at the hotel, only found a housekeeper who could not speak English. Only way we could do that was to wait until a receptionist coming in!!!! Not quite room even we asked when we made a booking that preferred a quiet room on the high floor, but they brought us to the 1st floor which I could hear the voices from people outside, as well as, on the corridor. Not recommended this hotel!!!! Not good value for your money and less than 1 star hotel. Disappointed

The room was TINY! I expected a bit more for what I paid. If you book a room here, pls ask for a room faceing away from the station/Main Street. I wasn't able to sleep for more than one or two hrs straight due to noise. The room was also poorly ventilated. It was very hot.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The coffee in the breakfast room was the best I had had in years!! The breakfast selection was very good (typical Swiss fare ). From the hotel, it's an easy walk to the central part of the village, which is quite prettty

There are 3 steps from the street to the lobby of the hotel, so take it into account if you are handicapped (then inside the hotel there is an elevator). Also, the entrance to the bathroom is relatively narrow. The furniture is simple and outdated, not modern. No AC. It is allowed to smoke in the room we got (25-26), so it was stinking from cigarettes, till we opened all windows.

The hotel is located near the train and bus station and right near Brig's center (but you are not disturbed by noise). However, take into account, that Brig's center is small and quite boring. And if you want to visit Zermatt, it's much cheaper to drive to Tasch and take the train there. The hostess is very nice and helpful. We got a family room (no. 25-26), which consisted of 2 rooms for 2 persons each, 1 bathroom with 2 showers, and there was also another sink in one of the rooms. Rooms are specious and comfortable (if there had been another separate toilet, it would have been perfect). One of the rooms has a balcony. Decent breakfast.

Everything was fine for a three star hotel, it is a good option in an expensive country..

On arrival we were greeted by a wonderful staff member who went above and beyond the usual formalities. She asked what our plans were and on finding that we intended to use cable cars (late May) volunteered to phone the company for us to check if they were running. She also helped out with information on the trains we were going to use and gave us a timetable. We enjoyed a cheerful conversation, were given bottled water and helped to our room - which whilst not luxurious was very pleasant and had everything you'd need. All of this made an excellent first impression which was only improved upon by the friendly service at breakfast the next morning and throughout our stay. The European style breakfast was delicious. The location is ideal near all trains and buses and a short walk to eateries and the castle. We used Brig to explore the small towns either side, particularly Fiesch (go up for glacier views) and Kandersteg and we loved the places we saw.

The fact that these old hotels built in the 60's are charging so much for what? These hotels should be in the 50 Swiss Francs range. The rooms are clean but they are old. The window shade didn't work. The noise from the street is a bit much. They charge so much for the room and want $10 for breakfast also. It is a bit of a walk if you have heavy luggage. Although the higher the price the larger the commission received, but Booking. com for the sake of being truthful to their customers should evaluate these old hotels and indepndantly set a price for them.

I booked a single budget room, and that's exactly what I got (just much smaller). I think that some shoe boxes might be larger.

The location is good, just across the main train station. However it's not the most quiet, as there's also the road right in front of the hotel. Parking is a bit tricky, around the hotel, but it was free. Don't forget the exclamation mark in the password of the wifi, I figured that out only after having tried to connect several times.

The receptionist/manager was very arrogant. The night we stayed there the baby was bit cranky the manger came to our room and said, "You are not allowed in the hotel. If you want to make noise please leave! The noise is coming up stairs" . How can make less noise if the baby is cranky. The very next day the same lady wasnt happy seeing us at breakfast! And spoke to us again with arrogance! The breakfast was ok not fancy! Please stay away from the hotel if you are traveling with baby!
