Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceBreakfast could’ve been better. And the bathroom, although it was clean, a little bit renovation would be nice.
This hotel was indeed befitting it’s name. It was sooo historical and original. Even it was historical, everything was well-kept and we felt like we time travelled to the past. View from rooms was simply magnificent. Definitely would recommend. Lady in the reception was helpful, even reserved a table in a restaurant for us since hotel restaurant was closed.

HungarySo let's start with me being an idiot, and booking the wrong date - after a short confusion the hotel manager found us a room with the most beautiful view i ever had. The hotel itself is absolutely charming, with old furniture and hand painted wallpapers. if you like vintage feel - this is it, it's like your Grandma's but elevated ♥ the breakfast was standard, nothing extraordinary, but the food was fresh and tasty.

United StatesThey don't have all the modern conveniences, which is a plus. Able to disconnect, yet there is wifi available. Easy walk into town, charming.
Historic, classic, takes you back to a time in history and has charm. Rooms are full of history and classic feel throughout the hotel. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Just a elegant throwback in time to the early 1900's which fits the character of the whole place.

United KingdomI didn't like the floors because they were broken and making lots of noise when walking around the room. They didn't clean the room properly. The breakfast was decent but could of been better if they gave more options.
The view was beautiful. And the hotel was close to the station and the cable cars which was good. Also the hotel was classic and the room layouts were very much presented.

NorwayWe were greeted by a nice lady when we entered the hotel and received a welcoming drink. The breakfast was good, and the service was nice. The rooms were big and the balcony view was beautiful. The hotel is quite old, and that is something you will notice once entering. You will notice this in how the beds are and the decorations of the room.

United StatesThere was a pretty good selection at breakfast, but trays were often empty. Most mornings, I would get a few items and wait for more stuff to come out from the kitchen for a second trip. It seems they just couldn't keep up with diners' appetites.
The view from our north facing room was fantastic looking right at Jungfrau, waterfalls and glaciers. We had a superior room and it was quite large with a sitting table, couch and very large bath tub. The balcony on the first floor is shared between all rooms so extends the length of the hotel making it quite comfortable. Dinners were very good. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. The ground floor of the hotel has many sitting areas inside and outside where we met many friendly travelers and shared some drinks. It feels like the family run business it is. The whole place is decorated with hand sewn rugs, original furniture, wallcoverings, etc. It feels so authentically homey. I would love to stay at Hotel Falken again.

United StatesBeds are not the softest. Breakfast needs some variation, very simple and repetitive.
Gorgeous historic inn with lots of personality. Great location in Wengen close to tram station and other nearby towns for day trips. Beautiful antique woodwork and original pieces all over the inn. Fabulous bar and pleasant staff with easy check in. Dinner at night reminds me of home cooked meals. And my favorite is the inn dog Charlie!

SwedenOn the second floor, it was a distinct smell of something, it´s unclear to me if it was detergent to hide something else, or what, but it was not at all pleasant. With that said, my girlfriend did not mind the smell at all even if I did.
The view from the room was amazing, and the room was old school, but very nice!

FinlandThe hotel restaurant was maybe a bit too much like eating at my grandparents (at least for more picky eaters). The food is good, but it is closer to a home cooked meal or catering quality than an excellent restaurant meal.
I loved the Historic Hotel Falken, as it felt like my anglophile grandmothers dream house in the Alps. It was comfortable and clean, and bursting with character. The decor was very much in the style of the beginning of the 20th century - I have inherited many similar pieces from my grandparents. It made me very happy and comfortable during my stay. I feel like I stepped into the role of "summer lodger" or "paying guest" a la Pollyanna... experiencing traveling like it was done 100+ years ago already in the Alps. Our small suite was perfect for our family, even if the rooms felt a bit like someone would have lost a few square meters of space from each room by accident and didn't notice until too late. We really loved the humongous bath tub. The location is excellent, the town of Wengen is a car free zone with easy access to all the different ways you can experience the Alps nearby. It's quiet, and safe for kids to run about and play. The views from everywhere are breathtaking.

United StatesThe air conditioning was not the best (it is a historic inn!!) Luckily you are high enough on the mountain that you can open the window at night to help cool off during the summer.
The view and location of the room was absolutely amazing. I loved how historic the hotel was. We were a 10 min train ride from Lauterbrunnen. We were able to also easily go up to Murren and Gimmewald.
