Good value, basic, needing spruced up; local multi-pass makes it worth it. Very nice staff.

Rooms are very dated and need refurbished, painted, a few minor repairs, etc. although they were always spotlessly clean. No tea/coffee-making facilities in rooms. No staff live in hotel after 8pm (summer) so no drinks after that point. Door to window balcony didn't open fully. Breakfast was very basic. Far too much disposable plastic packets used for butter, jam, spread, tea-bags, coffee capsules, etc. Not very environmentally friendly :(

Staff very helpful. Nice old winter-type decor in public areas. Great location in old part of the town and the building is a genuine Swiss-style one. Excellent multi-pass for all cable cars, ski lifts, local bus/train included in the hotel stay in the summer months, which made it great value.

Emmmm, I can not come up with anything that I do not like about it.

We got a room on the third floor with a roof window. The room is quite cozy and the heating is working quite well in the cold winter. There is a fire place at the bar area and it was really cozy to stay there to drink and relax. The breakfast is very good and the dinning hall has amazing view of the mountain and the village. We loved our stay in this place and the staff are really nice as well.

Thin walls but that did not bother us. We were there in summer and not winter. It would be a long walk to the cable car with skis but in summer it is nice. I guess in the winter there is a bus.

Breakfast was ok with a good view. The staff was excellent and wifi was strong, better than many european hotels. The room was fine with bunkbeds for the children. There is a bar on the first floor if you want a drink. There is a PAM grocery only 2 min walking.

Very friendly and accommodating owners! On the day of departure we asked to leave a bag in the luggage room so we could go snowshoeing one more time. Instead, we were offered to keep our room until 2pm which meant we could take a hot shower and get changed in comfort before taking the train back home. Breakfast offered a wide selection. As described the hotel is very close to the train stop champery village. The restaurants in Champery are walking distance and the free shuttle bus to the ski station leaves in front of the hotel.

Firstly, the breakfast was perfect: we enjoyed a selection of tasty hams and cheeses, delicious bread, jams, boiled eggs, cereal, fruit. Oh how I miss looking up at the snow capped mountains whilst sipping on my morning coffee! I was also amazed at how incredibly helpful, friendly and relaxed the staff were. The hotel itself is quirky and comfortable. Bathroom was in need of repair. Simple stuff that was just neglected like the location of the shower head on the short side of the tub. Why not put it above the long side? Not a big deal, but just annoying. Also, the bathroom was clean for the most part, but it could have used a deep cleaning. Overall, the hotel needed some TLC. All that considered, it was too expensive.

We booked this hotel last minute for a family ski holiday in Champéry over New Year so we did not know what to expect but we were delighted with the hotel. The owners are extremely helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and to help us. Room We booked a double room and a triple room for our kids (14,13,12). The décor is slightly dated but the rooms are clean, warm, comfy beds, plenty hot water for baths, a balcony, excellent free WIFI, large TV with huge selection of channels, plenty room for clothes. The rooms are cleaned everyday which was lovely. Food We booked B&B and the breakfast was very good. Huge selection of delicious breads, croissants, teas, cereals, yoghurts. We also ate in the hotel a few nights and enjoyed the set menu. The staff were all friendly and helpful at mealtimes. Location The bus stops almost right outside regularly so it is very easy to get to the cable car. The bus drivers were also very helpful. Bar There is a lovely cosy bar in the hotel which is perfect for drinks and card games with the kids. On the day of our departure we were leaving at 6am and they left us out coffee, cereal and croissants for breakfast. we also left an important document in the room and they contacted us by email and offered to post to us without us even having to contact them. Champéry is a lovely village and we enjoyed the skiing, skating, swimming and a trip to the thermal park. If we ever return we would definitely go back to Hotel des Alpes. All in all a friendly, cosy, comfortable hotel and very good value for money. A Lucky find for a last minute New Year booking!
