Very convenient location, right by the station. Although it was a 15 minute walk to the Altstadt, the hotel gave us Basel Cards which included free travel on the trams - this was great as we got to see a lot of the city. Although the tram stop was right outside the hotel, it was not noisy at all. The room was large and comfortable - although I have never had an exercise bike in a hotel room before! We chose not to have a hotel breakfast, and went instead to a local bakers.

Very friendly and helpful staff 24/7; lovely rooms - perfectly clean and quiet with the windows closed (the rooms are airconditioned). If you like to hear the music and the trams from the street that's a treat too. Perfect location next to the main station and straightforward access to the Airport. Good breakfast buffet; breakfast is also available in the rooms.

We were so pleasantly surprised at how wonderful this hotel was based on the price. It was one of the most comfortable hotels we stayed in during our visit to Switzerland and provided everything we needed and more than expected for such a reasonable price. And the location was absolutely perfect - right next to the train station and bus stop which allowed us to get everywhere we wanted to go quickly and conveniently. We also found the staff to be extra friendly. We can’t recommend the Hotel Schweizerhof highly enough.

Convenient to SBB Basel Bahnhof, Tram Station. Easy walk to Old Town and financial and business district. Very comfortable bed and cozy room. Very nice staff. Good breakfast. Excellent Swiss hospitality. Nice little bar for evening drinks before or after dinner. Two nights or more gets you a pass for local cost-free transit.

Everything! Literally steps to the train station!! The hotel kindly gives you a Basel card and you can ride the city tram which is literally out the front door, for free. There is a bottled water and ice station which the hotel provides for free. Beautiful rooms with hardwood floors! The staff was extra kind.

Fantastic greeting by reception staff made us feel instantly welcome. The room was very clean, quite spacious and with a comfortable bed. The location is perfect. Maybe 20 metres from the stop for the airport bus at the station and with trams to all parts of the city directly outside. Free soft drinks and ice available along the corridor. What's not to like? Check out process was rapid and easy, again with friendly and efficient staff on reception. We didn't use any of the facilities as it was a late arrival and a mid morning departure but would opt to stay here again for convenience, great staff, cleanliness and comfort.
