How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Noise from construction works outside of the hotel in the morning. no tea Coffee facilities however receptionist kindly offered tea coffee and brought to the room. Tiny lift can fit 2 person.
Central location. Conveniently located in town. 10 minutes to train station. stunning views of the lake from the hotel balcony combined with November sun made our trip very special. We really enjoyed the continental breakfast. Quiet enough.

Missed restaurants close by, would have been nice to get a snack in the evening.

No coffee facilities in the room and the tiny, tiny, tiny lift.
The location was superb, one street back from the lake, with views of it as soon as you stepped out of the hotel. We had access just outside of our room to a virtually private balcony offering sensational views. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Many ants at toilet floor due to aged wooden decoration and need to replace.
Very nice hotel with beautiful scenery of Lugano lake and mountain. Nearby city's center and a lovely small square just in front of the hotel. Lots of luxury brand shops on the Nassa street. Big balcony, a cup of wine on chair to see the lake and mountain. Museum LAC and MASK just few minutes to access by walk. All staffs kind and supportive. Breakfast quite comfortable.

I would prefer a walk in shower.
The location is amazing. Right across the road from the lake and a few minutes walk away from a very pretty town centre. The room was big with plenty of storage space.

Disliked the bathroom and elevator, anything inside of the building in general. To be fair, I was aware of the outdated building beforehand and booked anyway - no regrets!
Loved the balcony and the location of the hotel is awesome. The front desk was helpful in arranging transportation.

You need to remember it is an old building and bathroom therefore is not updated as rest of room is.
Location, bed/linens/pillows and the sleeping space. Air conditioning!

The hotel Nassa is centrally located and the rooms with a large balcony have a wonderful view over the lake of Lugano. I did enjoy my stay, everything was perfect! The staff was very helpful and welcoming.

Fantastic location,very central. Front desk staff were so helpful and friendly, best we have found so far in our ten weeks of travel. Room was large,quite dated, beds were comfortable, very quiet room. Expensive but worth it

The staff was very pleasant. The location is the best. Especially if you have a lake facing room. Unfortunately we stayed for just a night but would definitely like to go back and stay.

It would be nice to have some more electrical outlets. Perhaps a power strip with more outlets would be nice.
Nice small hotel in a great location close to downtown and the water. They had a good air conditioner in the room and a small fridge. Breakfast was good and staff were nice.

Whilst the owners had updated the windows and flooring, the hotel overall is tired and in need of an update.In our rooms the beds appeared to be the metal framed fold away type. The room looked into an internal courtyard and stairs to other parts of the building and was very dark. We were only there for one night, so it was sufficient for our needs, it wouldn't be my choice to stay for a holiday.
Location was very good, staff were very friendly, room was very clean . Breakfast was sufficient.
