Did feel that some of the meals were prepared / presented on basis of cost ( disappointing as not an inexpensive hotel). Hotel room was nice, comfortable, and appeared to have been refurbished to an unusual style of eclectic decor but that is of course down to individual taste. Number of sockets for mobile phones, camera charging etc inadequate, in this day and age. As stated Hotel slightly out of town centre and away from main lifts, but not a major problem if you do not mind, or are able, to walk. From main lifts / gondola's its quite a slog 'up hill' to the centre railway station but there is a bus, train ride option up the hill. Whilst at the hotel i picked up on some fire safety issues which i have subsequently passed on to the owners and fire service in Switzerland. This is not uncommon as fire safety standards in Switzerland, especially in older traditional buildings, are not as strict / advanced as in the UK so make sure you check any hotel arrangements on your arrival.

Hotel staff very helpful at arranging collection from railway stn. on arrival / departure. Food was very nice and a reasonable choice of options at evening meal, and always given an option of more if required. Food was always nicely cooked and well presented. Breakfast buffet was always plentiful with wide selection of hot and cold food and drinks. Staff were always friendly and attentive at reception, meal times and visits to bar. We had a front facing room with a balcony so we had a spectacular view of the mountains on the other side and down the valley and towards the Eiger / Jungfrau Massif. Room was comfortable and cleaners always did an excellent job. Bit out of the centre but that suits us as we do not mind a walk and would prefer a quieter area. There were regular reliable buses passing immediately outside hotel and I also believe that reception staff would have arranged a courtesy ride towards the railway station and town centre if required although we did not need this facility.

The dispensers for the soap were difficult to squeeze in order for soap to come out.

Check in was easy, room was great with balcony facing the mountains, all the staff was amazing from the front desk to those in the restaurant and the nice man who took us to the train station! Food was great for dinner!

Caution for those who are sensitive to insects. There were quite a few winged insect stuck to the ceiling at night, which made me consider changing rooms. I ended up catching them with tissue paper.

Very nice hotel. Rooms recently renovated. The hotel is been run by the same family for over 120 years and in fact these days the fifth generation is taking the reins. Everyone were very nice and with a desire to make your stay pleasant. I would like to give special mention to Marta and Carlos, who were exceptional in the level of service and kindness that we received from them.

Really need a front room to get the best out of the hotel with a view of the Eiger. But the food was very good considering it’s part of the package, with 1st class service from everyone in the restaurant who couldn’t do enough for you

It’s on the Main Street. If visiting in the summer and sleeping with the windows open, it can be disruptive.

The staff is amazing and the hotel has a long history. The food is amazing and worth adding the dinner! We enjoyed one of our favorite meals in Switzerland there. The pool and hot tub views are incredible. The front desk scheduled our tickets for paragliding and took great care of us. We loved it here.

I arrived late, and the staff helped me with how to check in and the cards and everything although there working hours are passed. The breakfast was great. They give you discounts card for cablecar and free bus ticket. I really enjoyed my stay.

Great location with an amazing view of the mountains. Good buffet spread each morning. Super friendly and helpful staff. Jacuzzi/pool area with a view of the mountains was nice! Loved our stay here and it was a highlight of our holiday in Switzerland. Would love to come back for a winter stay next time.

The view from our room, can see the mountains. The best part of the room. The room is so cosy and comfortable. Perfect location, love to walk to shops as they are literally 3 mins walk into the town. The staff are so nice.

Didn’t like the pillows, prefer something softer and not so lumpy. Wish the rooms had AC when it gets warm.

Love the modern rooms, but especially the ones with balcony facing the mountains. Service was exceptional, especially Marta and the food service staff. Great location too.

There is no air condition and refrigerator in the room and there was no light in the balcony at night.

The location is great, about 10 minutes walk from train station. we got a grate room with a balcony to wonderful view. The included breakfast was tasty.

Beds are a little firm, but that is personal taste, and I am a fan of fans in the bathroom. Nothing that got in the way of an excellent stay!

The staff was excellent! Very attentive and helpful from check in to breakfast to bar. They made us to go lunches when we got up too early for breakfast and were always quick to ask if they could do anything. The pool and hot tub were very nice on a rainy afternoon. Great customer service! Excellent location, perfect if you plan to do First. Easy access to bus or train as well as shopping/dining options. The view from the room was picturesque!

We loved everything about the hotel: comfortable beds, clean rooms, breakfast included , friendly staff. Ask about the shuttle/van service to the train station, it’s a bit of a walk and up the hill. Everything was great!
