During the night there is a bell (from outside) that rings every 15 minutes. It was terrible because that bell woke me up during the whole night.

I had a single room on the side of the churches and cathedral and the bells ringing through the whole night was not ideal. Even with windows closed I could still hear them. But this is not the hotel’s fault…just something to keep in mind if you are sensitive to noise.

We found that this hotel met criteria for a three star, not a four star hotel. It had all the basics, but no special touches or amenities. We were hoping for features like a good coffee machine and a decent sized fridge.

The room was comfortable and the location, in my case, perfect. It should also suit most people, being so central. Sorry, did not take breakfast at the hotel - pricing slightly on the exorbitant side. Also, the staff went out of their way to accommodate me in a suitable room despite the hotel being very full.

The bells! Especially on the Sunday morning, they went on and on, but every 15 minutes it seems there was more bell ringing. The hotel is right opposite the Notre Dame, so it was pretty noisy. On the second stay people in the adjoining room were pretty noisy late into the night as well.

The room we booked gave view onto the air ventilation system which is a bit depressing. On top of that the smell was not good when we opened the windows (some kind of old rotten cabbage smell).

Excellent location in Fribourg, you’re at walking distance of everything. Excellent, kind and accommodating staff. We liked that it was also pet friendly, for 20.- a night. The beds were comfortable.

Can get a bit noisy outside the hotel in the evenings, but not late into the night and closing windows was effective. No air conditioning but we were provided by a small fan, which was sufficient to keep cool.

Excellent location, in the centre of the old city of Fribourg and conveniently just a few steps away from a bus stop. The room was kept very clean. Helpful staff.

The personnel was polite but could be more engaging. The furniture and the decoration would be excellent when they were put (90s?) but the hotel needs renovation. Still, it was clean. The allay outside my room was quiet but I could hear the doors opening-closing so it woke me up once or twice in the morning. I found it unacceptable that when I went for breakfast around 09:00 the plates with omelet, salmon, slices of turkey and bacon were empty and I had to ask for two boiled eggs to get prepared by the kitchen personnel. I highly recommend to the hotel avoid this, and _fill_ the plates, no matter how many or little guests they host that particular morning, particularly when they pay extra for that service.

The hotel is generally old, but has some nice decorative things from past decades that I really liked. Two or three medieval giant textiles were hanging on the wall, as if in a museum. The location is the best in Freiburg, being in the centre, without noise from outside. I loved the view from my window and the really comfortable double bed.
