Maybe a queen-sized mattress rather than two single mattresses in the room with the river view but the view was worth it! The breakfast rolls were a little underdone - again, this is a minor problem considering the overall quality. The room and, particularly, the bathroom were smallish but clean and pleasant.

Beautiful view of the Rhine! Perfectly situated in the old town, pedestrian zone, shops, cafés, thermal bath. Quiet! Had several delicious, even memorable, meals in the hotel restaurant - no need to go elsewhere. A perfect place to stay if you want to visit Basel but enjoy returning to a quiet small town at the end of the day and luxuriate in the thermal baths there.

I did not like that when I woke up in the morning at 6:30 there was a prostitute standing on the bottom of the hotel opposite the front entrance. That sort of sucked ! I did not expect that at all. Because the hotel is in the middle of the old town. When I told the reception, they said it was normal that Germany being so close the traffic is happening ! Wow !

The minibar is empty. Would be nice to have some drinks. The breakfast was superexpensive.

Good sized room, nice beds, beautiful view in the triple room.

breakfast was not included in rate and very expensive (23 Swiss francs) if ordered extra (thus my low rating for 'value for money'), riverview was nice but only visible when standing directly at the small window.

Excellent location, quiet and clean room

Switzerland in general is expensive, but I felt our room was very expensive for being so basic. Paid for the view. And parking was 20 euros extra per night.

Very basic hotel room. Bathroom was dated. However ... we paid for an upgraded room and the view was beautiful. Opened the windows and you were literally right over the Rhine River. Nice to sit there with a glass of wine and enjoy the view. Breakfast was good, again beautiful view from the restaurant. Rhyblick in the breakfast room was great ! Each morning, American me, came down early and asked for coffee to take back to my room. He made a nice tray with silver service, coffee and hot milk. Cute enough town, but not too many restaurant options - maybe it was the time of year?

Location of Hotel is very nice and approach of the staff is friendly.

Awesome views of the river. Parking close by and one can drop off luggage in front of property. Walk to Germany. Breakfast very delicious. Fan in room for hot summer months. Even a insect repellent plug in device is available. Free bottled water and juice in fridge. Modern room. Restaurant great with awesome views.

Breakfast is good. Supplemented with some vegetables (tomatoes, cucumber ... ), scrambled egg and spread cheese it would be very good.

Breakfast with a marvellous view on the river Rhein and the Bridge. The hotel is located in the old town and 10 minutes walking distance from the Welness oasis "Sole uno" with a very salty bath (up to 10% salt). We also liked the hiking round trip river upwards (6km) that starts right in front of the hotel.

Checkout time was not clear; it was not stated anywhere in the room, and members of staff told us different things (10.30 -11 - 10am; although in the end they were flexible) Tea and coffee facilities in the room would have been nice, but this isn't the norm in many countries. As nearly always, no hooks for towels etc on the bathroom door.

The river view from the room and from the restaurant is lovely. Friendly restaurant staff. Although the hotel itself has no car park, the public covered car park is nearby and we were able to drive up to the hotel entrance to unload bags. The hotel is in the attractive town centre.

I went for breakfast at 9 a.m everything was great but they had no smoked salmon left and when I asked for some they said "sorry all gone" Think the other guests must have got up before me and took it all.

All of he staff were very friendly indeed, and looked as though they enjoyed their work. Feldschlossen bier perfect as brewery is in Rheinfelden.Waiter even cooled the glasses for me.

We wouldn't stay in that room again because it had no window & was very hot. We couldn't leave the balcony door open because it was insecure since the balcony could be accessed from the hall. While the restaurant was good, it wAs too expensive.

Our room was very crisp & clean & very efficient for it's size

The man who was at reception did not speak English. He gave me the pass and ID for internet, but did not tell me the internet was not working. The TV is on the same side of the wall as the bed, which makes is rather hard to use. The room is very very small with outdated furniture.

The location is great. Near the train station (max 5 min) and right at Rhine.

The hallways and guest room present like an institution! The hallways are dark and dingy. While our room was purported to have a balcony with a river view, it only had one small window - you could only enjoy the view when you were right at the window. Both the room and the tiny bathroom were remnicent of a university dormitory room. The shower was a dark and cave like. Clearly only one person could fit in this bathroom. As is typical, there is no AC in the room which meant we had to sleep with the window open - bugs galore all the time - swatting bugs does not make for a restful nights sleep! The front desk clerk was unfriendly and uncaring - her response to my concerns that the room was not as described and the cost high was: "well this is Switzerland you know where everything is expensive"! We have spent many nights in Switzerland in lovely accommodations none coming close to the poor quality and institutional atmosphere of tgie property. Poor value for the $$$.

BUGS GALORE AND NOT WORTH THE $$$$

The bathroom was small and showing its age a little; furnishings and decoration a bit basic. Nice view from the balcony but decorative state a bit run down. The only place to park is in a public underground car park a short walk away which is expensive. Overall not good value, especially compared with German hotels not far away.

The restaurant was excellent; food was good and service first class. Staff very polite and friendly all the time. Attractive village with pedestrian access only to centre.
