The shower was noisy and hard to control. Not all pillows that were advertised were actually available.

Great location. Excellent service. Child friendly. Fantastic staff in the bar.

Isolated place, note this if you want walking distance to the lifts!

I would say a huge thanks to the staff - they were all very nice and helpful. I was able to change before the check-in to go skiing early, on the last day I took a shower long after the check-out. They also helped me navigate in the village a lot. Otherwise, the single room is very small, but you have everything you need (and a free minibar), facilities are far from new, but clean and in perfect condition. Breakfast is also good - not exceptional, but very nice. Location is isolated, but they have a free shuttle to the lifts, and the hotel is 15min from Caumasee, which is really beautiful!

No tea or coffee facilities in room. Bathroom a little dated.

Friendly staff with a convivial bar. A very good shuttle bus service to lift station. Complementary mini bar service. Good breakfast.

Rooms on 5th floor (we had 2) have nice views, but are rather noisy and the bath rooms need to be modernized.

Manager Jens and literally all of the staff - from reception, shuttle drivers, restaurant & bar staff, house keeping & others - make you feel at home and serve you with smiles and enthusiasm. The hotel location is great with beautiful views over forest and mountains. Ski shuttle frequent and convenient for the slopes. Special events are organized for the guests - we especially liked the forest walk with torches towards the Christmas gathering in the forest. Hotel has nice mountain atmosphere and looks - combined with some modern comfort like the Spa area. Thanks to all at the Sunstar for a great stay!!

Amazing hotel with delicious breakfast. Very polite staff. I was impressed that they have lactose free milk because normally other hotels don't have. Wellness is there also great. Looking forward to come back again.

Decor a bit dated, but if you can get over that - its a gem

Great facilities, generous size rooms, family friendly with kids play area, super friendly staff, so close to Caumasee and hiking trails.

Decor in bathroom starting to look a little tired. Staying anywhere in Switzerland tends to be expensive for foreign visitors due to the strong Swiss Franc.

Lovely hotel in a great location. As a former seasonal worker here 25 years ago, this felt a little like returning home, only as a guest rather than an employee this time. The hotel is extremely comfortable. The back rooms look out towards the imposing Flimserstein rock face. Nearby is the beautiful Lake Cauma (the Caumasee) and the stunning Ruinaulta (Rheinschlucht or Rhine Gorge).

Large groups of OAPs in the breakfast room, blocking passages with walking frames. Every single item had to be collected from the breakfast buffet, no decent breakfast tea.

Tacky lounge music by a guy on a synthesiser who couldn't sing well, and didn't know the lyrics, but tried to sing anyway - I have never heard a live singer attempt to sing a song with murmurings because he didn't know the lyrics. Could've just played it instrumental. Really not a nice touch for what's supposed to be a 4 star hotel. (If he didn't sing it'd be fine.) Location just a bit far from town (but on the flip side it's really nice next to the forest). Pool is tiny and heated to 28 degrees, which is fine if you can swim laps but since you can't it's a little cold.

Lovely quiet location next to the forest near a good walking trail, and still close to the main road, but a little bit away from the town centre. Huge room and bathroom, nice comfy wood decor in the room and hallways. Restaurant is cosy and food is descent (hearty, but not spectacular - my cordon bleu was burnt at the bottom and the dessert with 'warm chocolate sauce' came with cold chocolate sauce). FYI the transport card only allows you to take the 'Shuttle', not all public transport, but the shuttle runs decently frequently and this is probably true throughout Flims. Sauna downstairs is nice. Free parking.

Being quoted a price by bookings.com for a nights stay and being charged TWICE the price on check out! £171. checked in at 11pm, checked out at 9am. They had no recollection of our booking and as I did not want to cause a scene I payed up leaving me short on budget for rest of holiday.

Not a lot for the money.

Evening meal was poor. The hotel caters for elderly groups who had half board based on a buffet dinner, which was basic in quality. We had not booked half board but were obliged to share the buffet. One room was booked as a double but changed to a single two days before. We were still charged the double even though other hotels on the trip managed to accommodate this.

We had very rude people above us who had children running around late at night so hard to sleep. We spoke to hotel management who moved us straight away - can't get better than that.

Loved our room and the food was far better than we had expected so we ate in the hotel more than we would normally. Staff we excellent, attentive and up for a chat but not annoying.
