Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaParking situation is terrible. Here's what their listing states: Public parking on the roads is free of charge in the evenings and during the night. A public car park is available for a fee in the immediate vicinity. THIS IS TOTAL UNTRUTH !!!! We have a 40 euros parking ticket to confirm this misinformation. We parked our car in the front per the listing info, unloaded, walked to beach and had a coffee. Returned 45 mins later to the ticket. Went to front desk to discuss the listing info, I was informed they DID NOT have any parking. Hunted down the Polezi ticket person to discuss, he informed us that the hotel did not have any parking and furthermore there are NO SIGNS in front of the hotel to provide information. There were several other cars parked at this location with Swiss license plates. Unfortunately, we are easy target due to our Germany license plate. I would not recommend this hotel if you are driving.

SlovakiaBreakfast was very basic , very average coffee , croissants did not feel fresh, some jams, one sort of bread, cheese and salami, one sort of cereals and eggs to self boil.
Location in the close proximity to bus, boat and train stop, directly on the lake promenade and easy to get to town by foot or by public transport. The hotel is furnished in art deco style but it feels like it would eventually need refreshment, but still nice. For the city tax you get a Ticino card, which allows you to travel in whole Ticino free of charge, with public you need to ask for it at the reception.

FranceThe bed was not very comfortable and the electric blind on one of the windows in the room was broken and couldn't be raised - fortunately the other one did work so we could still get the lake view. The kitsch decor - ranging from pictures of the knights of Malta to suggestive half-naked women, including on ceiling panels in the dining room - may not be to everyone's taste
The location of the hotel is ideal, directly overlooking Lake Lugano in the Paradiso section of town, and a pleasant 15 minute walk to the center. The building itself is gorgeous and while the hotel itself is pretty run down (it has a 1970s feel), the lack of any attempt to make it more luxurious means it is good value for money. In fact, the decor throughout the hotel looks like the owners spent a lot of time rummaging around at yard sales looking for an assortment of kitsch items.

AustraliaWhilst everything was neat and clean the Hotel is looking very tired and dated with too many old artifacts all over the place
Hotel Victoria is in a good position opposite the beautiful Lake Lugano making it easy to walk along the waterfront to the town.....

ItalyAlthough the building looks nice, it is old and needs serious refurbishment. From the outside, it almost looks abandoned. It is easy to notice inside that the hotel needs various works and there is an odd smell of an old (not too clean) building even in the rooms. So, the overall feeling is that the hotel is not maintained well and that you don't feel completely comfortable while staying there. Below the hotel, there is a nightclub (other reviews do not mention it), so music can be heard in rooms. It is not too strong, but consider using earplugs if you are a light sleeper. It is a pity that a nice building in a great location is far from being in good condition, so this can ruin an experience. Considering the price, it definitely should be improved.
The front office staff was friendly and helpful. The beds are comfortable. The interior design is nice. The location is good, and the lake view is really nice and enjoyable.

CanadaThe building is old and rather eclectic. Bathrooms are huge but inconvenient. The bed was short for my height and the blankets were extremely tiny.
A little bit further away from the center but still easy to get to. The stuff is extremely helpful and nice.

New ZealandNo air conditioning, so needed to keep the balcony doors open, but that end of town was reasonably quiet to be able to do that. No tea or coffee facilities in the room, or a fridge, that would have made all the difference, as prices in switzerland is so expensive.
The balcony view to the lake was beautiful. I liked the old style building, but definitely needs a update, but if you like old world charm it's great. The breakfast was very good, and able to sit on the 1st floor balcony for breakfast, looking out at the lakr was delightful. Staff were helpful in the office and at the breakfast.

United KingdomParking facilities are not part of the hotel and although there is parking opposite, it’s very expensive. Restaurant pricey and food not up to standard. Hotel could do with a refresh.

United States of AmericaSaid they had air conditioning, but they would not provide the remote to enable it! They said you can use it except certain times of the year. It was a very warm day and evening, so we had to leave the windows open at night, because it was too warm and with the windows open it was VERY noisy.

United States of AmericaThe entire building smelled like heavy cigar smoke. I felt every spring in the mattress pressing into my back. There was no where to stop and park to check-in. The floor squeaks loudly with every step. The “remodeling” looks like it was done by people with zero experience remodeling.
