The location was too touristy for us, primarily because of people going to/from the trains and boat. Wires and banners obstructed the lake view. Had to pay 2fr. for a tiny cup of ice!

Location was good and bad. We had a balcony overlooking the nice lake view. It was convenient being near the train and boat dock. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast included. Helpful staff. Good wi-fi.

Train noise is significant during the nights. The breakfast is basic and limited that you will find it if get up late.

The location is near to the train station, the pier and the lake. The room is traditional and exactly the same as the pictures of the description. Lake view is good with bottles of beers!

Ideal location next to the train station and the boat, mountain steam railway behind as well. Views across the lake were fantastic. Easy parking behind the hotel. Breakfast buffet had everything we needed and the Restaurant in the evening just as good. We were on a road trip and Hotel Weisses Kreuz was an ideal stop over to drive all the mountain passes near by.

Breakfast is just so so. There is no vegetable and all the same menu. Too many flies are in the restaurants. No refrigerator in the room.

All was good. Just had to keep an eye and catch early train from centre (eg Interlaken) not exceeding 9-9.30pm as transport late night can be a challenge in Switzerland.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Weisses Kreuz in Brienz. The hotel is charming, clean, and very comfortable. One of the best things is its location—right in front of the Brienz train station, just a minute’s walk away, which made traveling super convenient. The surrounding area is peaceful and scenic, perfect for a relaxing stay. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Brienz

The wi-fi did not work at all at this property and was very inconvenient because cellular reception in the area is also not great.

Road right behind had 1 truck stay idle filling our room with fumes at 6am... Not really the hotels fault. Just close your window before you sleep and your fine.

There are some things however that may need urgent improvement in this hotel: - The prices for hotelrooms in Switzerland are highly overrated/overpriced. For the same high amount which we paid, you would have a luxury room with a private bathroom and nice views in Belgium. - A 'shared' bathroom in a hotel is totally outdated and unacceptable, especially when you have to share it with complete strangers (it might fit families though). No privacy and a dirty floor, an unfresh toilet and an used bathtub were our daily dose of annoyance. The bathroom and bedroom have been checked and freshened up every morning though. - The chiefs of staff have been quite rude with their subordinates. In front of the hotel-guests some staff-members were treated with anger and impatience. That is really NOT done. A special mention to the older lady with blond hair in the breakfast-area: try to be a little more kind to everyone, it will elevate the general atmosphere in your hotel! This applies to all staff-members and especially the manager of this hotel. - Our arrival in the hotel was not so welcoming. Many Swiss people seem to have a bit of moody characters and have some problems with being kind and acting kindly. This weighs on the general atmosphere.

The hotel has lovely views on the Brienzer Lake. At first sight the hotel-interior has this typical 'Switzerland'-vibe with wooden furniture and handpainted cupboards. The outside sitting-area however is a little boring, just plain tables, plastic chairs and a big contrast with the interior areas. No flowers, no candles, no lights on the tables. We booked this hotel through a platform and were a little sceptical about the description in the advertisement: 'shared bathroom'. In other European countries we associate this with hostels and campings, but not with a hotel. The bedroom was fine, overlooking the backside of the hotel with small trainstation; the two beds and pillows were excellent. The breakfast is fine with a good choice of products and the restaurant offers delicious and well prepared dishes. There are plenty of outdoor activities in this beautiful Swiss region (Brienz, Lauterbrunnen, Staubach, Trümmelbach). Another positif aspect: free parking for hotel guests. A HUGE thank you to the 2 young ladies/staff-members who helped us with getting our breakfast and prepared a coffee for us on the very early morning we left the hotel! Their kind help and lovely smiles absolutely were a nice goodbye.

The carpet was odd, if the room had air conditioning it would have been perfect. Maybe it might have been ok in the past, but termps have been getting hotter and hotter, and with the humidity the A/C is a must.

Staff was great. Didn't get a chance to eat at the restaurant on premises, but I think it would have been good. Location was amazing, lake view, next to bus/train stations. On top of local tourism office. Excellent. Room was good as well.
