Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Very on theme, they tried to make it feel homey. Breakfast was good and plenty. It felt very secure as you have to ring a bell and verify yourself when getting in. And it's located a higher than the street.

United StatesThe property is well maintained. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Very nice views of the surrounding neighborhoods and part of the city. The hotel is reasonably located to the city, although it is uphill and is not well suited to the disabled. This didn't affect my party, but disabled travelers should be aware.

BelgiumIt’s a bit kitsch medieval but we found it very funny and even dressed up in the clothes available. Quit rooms after the night guard turned of the medieval music 😁

United StatesWhen I checked in, they requested documentation to prove my foreign residency, which I didn't have with me. I know it was my responsibility, but this ended up costing me an extra 19%. It was kind of inconvenient, and I forgot about it when I saw how nice the room was. Interestingly, at another hotel in the area, they didn't ask for this kind of documentation..
The staff was friendly, the medieval-themed decor of the place was very cool, and I think it was very well executed, the room was spacious, had beautiful decor, books, a large and very comfortable bed. Additionally, there are costumes available for you to take photos in the place. I love that they let you explore part of the castle. The architecture is beautiful. I believe the room's value is fair for everything you get. I would love to come back.

ChileRooms are a bit cold and also they don't isolate noise from the outside too well. I could very easily hear happy couples do their thing which was quite uncomfortable given I was traveling alone.
The Medieval theme was spot on, regular rooms are not in the Castle, but the Castle itself can be freely explored, it has clothes to put on and a lot to look at, I enjoyed it a lot.

CanadaThe location, while technically close, due to it being a castle, is on a hill so pretty much the return walk is a trek from the rest of the area. I wouldn't recommend for anyone with average to severe mobility issues as there are stairs galore, but also uphill walks to be had. The toilet didn't work for us while there which was a bit of an issue clearly. though we requested rooms next to each other, and upon arriving for early check in were promised that, there was a mixup when we returned to check in and the room was almost given away. It was quickly fixed though and handled with professionalism and courteousness. They should totally have an on site restaurant / room service, amazing facilities for it and we would have happily spent money there. NOT THE PROPERTY FAULT: because off season a tad, construction was everywhere so we couldn't do a lot sadly, but we still walked around and got to take pics.
The grounds were so lovely, you could spend the day there happily without needing to leave. Certain staff went above and beyond to help us find more tour information and directions around. The breakfast was simple but ample and had a lot of the things you'd want for a light fare. Security is very much what you'd like from a castle and very fun to ring a bell to gain admission. The rooms were built off to the side, and are spacious enough for short stays, clean. Close to lots of restaurants, groceries and stores. Fun little costumes and collections of historical artefacts to add to the authenticity, even if they were of mixed eras which made us giggle. loved the music piping through the grounds, the whimsy was just perfection.

United KingdomReally dark room. All day, the light had to be on, but even then, we couldn't see inside the wardrobe, etc. Quite depressing. Bathroom poor. Furniture was in need of repair. Drawers wouldn't open, etc. The breakfast area was OK but all the tables & chairs were very old. Metal chairs with cushions & the cushions were filthy ir non-existent. Hot water came & went quickly.

GermanyIt's unfortunately not worth the money. Some reasons: So the stuff spoke no English while check-in. Mold on the bathroom ceiling. Too cold. It was heavy raining and if you wanna go eg between your room and breakfast there is no roof. Breakfast is until 10.30, when we reached by 10.20 there was no coffee and almost nothing left. Other guests were there also before and found nothing left. All the tables were still dirty from the other guests before (so at least the brought some coffee after the other guests called the reception) All these would be okay (not the mold) also regarding Chile standard, but for the money I expect better.
The castle itself is really nice.
