How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

My Spanish is bad.. but I really tried. The hostess seemed a bit annoyed by the fact that we could not have a smooth conversation. Didn't always make us feel as welcome because of it.

Verified reviewHuge room with panoramic windows on two sides and high ceilings. Great balcony with a hammock. Mosquito net over the bed (although there was a surprising lack of mosquitos). Massive and delicious breakfasts. The staff were very kind and persevered with our limited Spanish! Only a few minutes walk to Telerifico Fin Del Mundo (cable car) - which is the best way to start the Fin Del Mundo hike. There's a nice man selling beer out of his living room on the other side of the road (up the steps with the beer poster on and ring the doorbell). Additionally, we originally booked 3 nights, not realising how long the bus journey down to Mocoa would take. Booking wouldn't let us change the dates but they kindly knocked the first night off the bill! They gave us early check-in and late check-out for free. To get here from town you can get a yellow taxi or alternatively a bus/collectivo that's doing "Ruta 4".
You'll only get 5 mins of hot water out of the shower at a time, but if you turn it off whilst lathering up it'll be continous, as it seems to have a quick recharge!

Verified reviewIncredible jungle view from the room and bacony. Really cool artisanal design including waterfall like showers and a huge bath ( it takes time to fill but it's worth every penny after a good day walking to waterfalls). It's a walking distance to entry to Fin del Mundo falls trek and a little further a bridge over Rio Pepino where you can find unreal swimming spots just to to yourself. When it rains it's even more mystical with clouds hovering over Selva and river gushing down below. Hosts will cook food at anytime and bring everything to your room. Solid Colombian breakfast included. Taxis can be arranged to Mocia for 15.000 COP. My kinda paradise.
Been scratching my head for 10 minutes and couldn't find any fault. They even have a bar fridge stocked with local artisanal water coke and beers! All little breakages that occured during our stay ( like intermittent hot water were attended immideately) When the fridge suddenly died they just carried in a new one.. connected it and we're done )))

Verified reviewThe view from the cabin is spectacular. The bed is comfortable, the shower was hot with plenty of water. The cabin has some cool design features, rustic and very well done. We worked remotely while we were there and the internet connection was adequate for the job. The hosts are wonderful people, the breakfast was plenty, fresh and delicious. We highly recommend this stay.
