Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

United Kingdom- some of the staff who weren’t the owner were less friendly/helpful - pretty bad shower
- the location is beautiful with a nice pool and great grounds. Only a few mins from the entrance to Tayrona. - filtered water available - the food offered was some of the best I’ve had in Colombia (the owner can cook a great pasta) - the owner is very nice and helpful

MalaysiaNo complaints!
When I saw that the entrance itself is a beautiful long hanging bridge across the river, I knew I'd come to the right place. It's really peaceful because it's not smack in the centre of Tayrona but still close enough to get there easily. Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful pool. Wifi available. Comfortable beds. The dorm even has air-con! Which was such a treat. I really appreciated how the river is so close by and that they are pet friendly, with lots of dogs and cats of their own. It's also super easy to get to. Just tell the bus guy Mama Tayrona and you're dropped off right at the gate. :) Definitely would come back some day.

What a hostel! Amazing pool, space, the hostel is in harmony with nature. The staff is super friendly, very helpful, giving us tips and even warming us about stuff without us asking. The dogs are big cuties, the breakfast is great, the beds are good. The location is 10 min from the village callabezo and the entrance to Tayrona. Plus, a bunch of free mangos along the hostel

United StatesI wish there were chairs in the dorm rooms, but, other than that, nothing to complain about :D
Hostel was very nice, and very creatively built. The staff and owners are great, really nice breakfast, good pool, great view and one outdoor shower than is fantastic. And solid Wifi. Overall, a very good place!

Amazing place to stay - beautiful natural pool, great bar area to chill and lots of hammocks. Really helpful staff - great advice on how to visit Tayrona and recommended the best wildlife/bird tour I’ve done in South America. They were also so kind to help me out, when I missed my evening bus to Minca. Really recommend!

ColombiaWhen I leave
I came to Mama Tayrona thinking it’d be a short stay, but this place pulled me in. Waking up to the sound of the jungle, having breakfast surrounded by trees and birds, taking a dip in the water when the sun gets too hot… It’s the kind of rhythm that makes you breathe deeper without even noticing. The rooms are cozy, the common areas are full of life but never overwhelming, and there’s just this steady, grounding energy in the air. But what really makes it unforgettable is the people. From the team running the hostel to the travelers passing through, there’s a genuine sense of care and openness here. It’s easy to feel at home, to have long talks, shared meals, quiet moments, and laughter that feels effortless. Mama Tayrona gave me peace when I needed it most and some new friends I’ll carry with me. Can’t wait to come back.

AustraliaThe first night there was music coming from the restaurant area with someone drunken singing until 3am, it was a Tuesday night I think? And was ridiculously loud for that time on a weekday, I didn’t get to sleep until the music stopped.. no idea what was going on cause it didn’t happen again while we were there but was still super inconsiderate and annoying
Great location and beautiful place to stay. Affordable and clean. The dinner options were great, I really liked the pizza. We did a day trip to the national park from here. Lots of other people doing a night in the park and coming back to stay here.

United KingdomVery tiny things that you expect for staying the jungle. No A/C or fans but given the price you don’t really expect it, and shower pressure not amazing but again very minor
The staff and the food were AMAZING !!! Food was fantastic quality and a great selection of drinks. Really relaxed but joyful environment. Loved the cats that were there ! The location was great right next to Tayrona Park Calbazo entrance. Although we did not get a chance to take a dip as we only had a one night stay the pool looked amazing. Staff very helpful went above and beyond to help guests (particularly the gentleman from Bogota/Brentford - didn’t get his name)

GermanyGreat value for money, probably the cheapest private room I stayed in three months but it was very nice (bed with mosquito net, shower with views over the mountains). Great pool area too! :) The stay did come with a few inconveniences for me tho, the first day the wifi was not working (plus mobile data service there is not working), I did laundry which took quite a while but still came back damp and one item was missing which unfortunately I just realized afterwards. Food was ok but not amazing 😄

United KingdomThe double room was clean and comfortable. The dorm room was less so, it smelt and there was dead cockroaches. Understandably, in the jungle there’s bugs but the room was not very clean.
We wish we got more time here it was amazing. The owners are a mother son duo and they are lovely. The mother helped us make the most of our time and drew us a map to explore the surrounding are to a river and rock pool. It was gorgeous. The views in the area are spectacular. The dinner was lovely and the communal areas also really nice.

BelgiumWe were in a double room with balcony (really nice !). The mattresses were very hard, not that easy to sleep comfortable, unfortunately.. that was the only thing we would have change !
The location, close to the gate of Calabazo, was perfect, but in the middle of the nature, so relaxing The vibe was really nice, the staff very kind and the pool amazing Even though the menu at the restaurant was Occidental (pizza - pasta - hamburger) it's all homemade and it was really good :)

BelgiumThe hostel has beautiful surroundings, views on the mountains, river close by and beaches just a short bus ride away. Fabiana is an amazing host. She gave us great recommendations on where to go and the meals she prepared for us were always delicious. What makes this place even more worthy of support is Fabianas engagement in the protection of the natural environment, trying to protect native forests around them. And there is filtered water at the hostel, reducing plastic waste. Defenitely recommended!!!

Fabienne was lovely and so helpful with the tips for our daytrip in Tayrona. The location is jungle fever 100 percent! The pool was with natural water and had a breathtaking view. You can easily connect with people as well. The rooms are clean and practical. They will get hot at night, be prepared, but you are sleeping in a tropical jungle. The outdoor shower was pretty cool!
