Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandIf you don't like walking you won't like the 5 - 10 minute walk to the main road but otherwise this place is paradise.
Location next to the river was beautiful, the staff were extremely helpful and friendly, the flora and fauna around the hostel was amazing, it was a hidden gem tucked away from all the tourists. Its a shirt walk to the main road and as soon as you cross the road there is a moto taxi stand where you can catch a bike in Guachaca town. The buses also stop directly opposite the road that EcoHostal is down.

New ZealandThe most beautiful, peaceful spot we’ve stayed! The river was right there for us to relax and cool down in. We arrived Sunday and the river had all the locals playing and listening to music. Was a fab day! The hosts are incredible. And their dogs became my best friends haha.

United KingdomLovely place - will come again however…you need to know the property is 600metre walk from the road. Be ready for that each time you arrive and leave.

PolandGood place to chill and be close to the nature. The owner is so sweet. The food there is amazing, cooked with love and care like from grandmother. All rooms have a place to work and nice views. Also we enjoyed the river so much! And waterfalls in neighborhood. We could also make a laundry. We extended our stay because it was so good. Highly recommend. Place with a people with beautiful hearts. 😊👌✨

BelgiumAlthough the rooms are private, the upper part of the wall is open, so you hear the other guests, sleeping, talking, using the bathroom,... We had a big thunderstorm which was impressive and very loud as the walls are open. The upside about the location is also the downside, there is not much to do, except to take a nap/look for birds or to take a walk to the beach (1 hour away). Ideal for relaxing. No hot water in the bathroom, but not necessary in this climate. Depends on what sort of stay you are looking for.
Very friendly and helpful family, beautiful place with lots of flowers and plants. Away from the touristy, typical places. Clean rooms, equipped with mosquito nets and ventilator, very nice view from the balcony. Close to the riverside. Good breakfast (arepa con queso, huevos, fruit, coffee).

ColombiaThe place is absolutely beautiful. It is very peaceful and you can see lots of plants and animals. It was really easy to reach by bus, and also get to beaches and parque Tayrona by public transport too. Dona Petra and the other girls were lovely and made us feel really welcome.

United StatesThere was a large gap in the door so bugs did get in but also you are in a remote area so bugs are around. Sometimes the wifi cut out at night.
This property was gorgeous. Right on the river with nice views and good places to hang in hammocks with plants and birds all around and a little pond with frogs(which were a bit loud haha). The room was fine, good beds but small. The wifi was decent. The family that runs the place was very kind and helpful. About a 7 min walk from the road to easily catch the bus or a 20 min walk down the road to the main town where the shops and food is.

SwedenThey don't take card or use dataphone. However you can withdraw cash in the town puerto nuevo some 20 mins away walking.
Amazing location near to the river with a small beach where the water is deep enough to cover you. The room in itself was spotless with comfortable beds. Although you are just some 600 meters from the highway you don't hear any noise from the vehicles. The caretakers, especially Petra, make you feel right at home and prepare really nice food as long as you ask with some time.

GermanyThe only disappointment is that I have to leave.
Extended my stay instantly. It’s an oasis of relaxation away from the crowded tourist areas that surround Tayrona Park. Everything is clean, the staff is the best ever and who doesn’t like sleeping while listening to the birdsong of the jungle? For a perfect experience stay a few days! With the bus you can reach the beach and Tayrona very fast.

United KingdomOnly a couple of little things: the wifi didnt work in our room (but it is really good in the main areas, so not too big of a deal.) important note for those who are less-able-bodied, the hostal has a lot of stairs, so it may be tricky for you if you are less mobile!
The property itself is so so beautiful - quaint rooms, with quiet surroundings close to the river. the bed was super comfy and all come with an insect net. our room was equipped with a fan and an air conditioning and a little ensuite bathroom. the highlight of our stay was Petra and her wonderful family, as well as the delicious breakfast she made every morning (which was included in our stay). we opted to eat at the hostal and we were not disappointed at all - we had amazing meals that we discussed with Petra in the morning and she would russle up something even better than we had imagined every evening! the super friendly dogs and being directly next to the river - which is great to swim in was a bonus. in terms of transport, the track runs 600m by car to the hostal (probably better with a 4x4) or a 300m walk (by the 300m sign there is a separate pathway with steps that takes you down to the hostal). it is also great in terms of location, being a 12minute bus ride to Tayrona Park, a 5minute bus from Guachaca (supermarket and a couple of restaurants) or a 20minute walk. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and cannot recommend this place enough!
