Our last night in the hotel there was a private party on the upper deck overlooking the pool. The music and guests were quite loud and didn't disperse until after 11:00pm. We had an early morning flight to catch, so it was impossible to get to sleep until much later than we'd hoped.

The breakfast was phenomenal. Concierge seervice was outstanding. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived for check-in, so the receptionist moved us to a finer room so we wouldn't have to wait after a long day of travel. We were thrilled with our upgraded room. The location of the hotel was perfect. The bed as comfortable as we've ever had when traveling.

Nothing loved it all

Everything! First THE STAFF! This hotel is not only in perfect location, amazing amenities, luxurious decorating and atmosphere/the staff was the most attentive and sincere I have ever experienced. They went above and beyond both before I arrived and while there. I especially want to mention GABRIEL in the concierge. He was beyond helpful in planning my time there by booking excursions, car to and from airport , lunch /dinner recommendations. Highly recommend this hotel. I checked out other hotels that I was thinking about and there is no comparison.

This former monastery is spectacular. Beautifully gardens, fabulous spa, incredible breakfast and staff who are completely dedicated to making sure everything is perfect.

The hotel added on an extra £25per night general service charge (to be allocated across all staff) and a £5 a night insurance/security charge. I found that rather distasteful given the cost per night of the rooms. Has a smell of Rynair about it!

Located in the heart of old town so 5-15 mins walk from everything. Beautiful hotel with many features dating back centuries. Service is impeccable - smiley, helpful people everywhere with no expectation of a tip. Lovely pool area with nice and plentiful sun loungers. Amazing world-class restaurant at very reasonable price.

- there is some noise due to the location but this is to be expected and would only wake a light sleeper - the service at times felt a bit impersonal but this was simply down to the size of the property - some bits of the property are showing their age. Broken signage, tiles, bathroom lights ect. Just needs a bit more maintenance. But for a property this old it’s generally in good shape.

- the hotel room was great and the property has lots of facilities - food was very good both breakfast and lunch - staff were friendly - location is great (right in the walled city)

No complaints

The staff are exceptional and make you feel welcome. The breakfast buffet is amazing with so many tropical fruits to try. The pool is clean and great to do laps in. The garden is lovely to sit. The location makes accessing many of the local attractions. The junior suite with a balcony view of the pool and sea was very special. The Cano jewelry store was perfect. The whole experience is five stars.

Rooms are fine but modern and not in the historic section. Also, this isn’t unique to this hotel but having a thick down comforter on the beds in crazy when it’s so hot. I had turn the air conditioning up high just to avoid sweating all night.

An exceptional place: prime location above the old city wall and in a convenient but relatively quiet lication, beautiful historic property, helpful staff.

Gym was rather small with running machine looking at wall and not much equipment. Also they add on a bunch of tax and insurance on final bill (we didn’t read the small print on checking in and they didn’t mention it). We really didn’t need insurance as we have comprehensive travel Insurance.

Beautiful property in the heart of Cartagena old town with direct views of beach too (over the old town wall). Had two spacious rooms overlooking pool in newer part of hotel. Beds were unbelievably comfortable.
