This was our first visit to PNG and Walindi. The property was beautiful, and cottages spacious and well appointed. Food was good. All staff were beyond amazing and helpful. Diving was great with the reefs teeming with life and thousands of colorful fish. If you are thinking about staying here, don’t think twice. You will love it!

There is no AC in cottages and some evenings and nights were pretty brutal. We knew about the AC and mentally prepared for hot nights 😂 I can see how AC might not be needed since majority of guests were expats living in PNG or Australians, and almost everyone we talked to doesn’t even use AC at home, but for us, the Americans, this was hard. We would gladly pay extra for the privilege of having air conditioning.

the location and the views of the sea and distant volcano are beautiful. the room was comfortable and cleaned daily. the staff were very kind. food at the onsite restaurant was generally good, and the terrace overlooking the sea was unbeatable.

the common areas like the swimming pool was not cleaned appropriately, there were at times tissues and old towels lying around for several days. silly policy about taking guests to the airport at fixed times 2h before departure, which for us meant a 4:30am ride.

No response to messages and emails. Only meat heavy and ultra-processed food! No access to kajaks and no paddleboards at all! There. Is no beach!

We advised that we'll check in at 4pm. However, when we arrived, the room was not yet available and was advised to wait. After a few minutes, we were called and we're advised that we have been upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment. I mentioned that we booked for 2 beds, and upon finding out there was only 1 bed, we advised front desk that we need 2 beds. The staff offered to set up an extra bed for free. Upon arriving at the apartment, we were so disappointed because the room was almost bare, no bottled water, no soap and shampoo in the bath, the telephone was not working and later, the extra bed NEVER came.
